A person can read the posts on FR without ever registering or posting. We have no idea how many are discouraged from staying or becoming a part of the dialogue. I still contend that it is doing the conservative cause a disservice by alienating anyone who would otherwise “get involved”.

You are assuming people are discouraged and won’t register...how about those who are lurking and because of the falsehoods determine they will register? Each has his own “comfort” level...and service.
The moderators have been quite clear about the religious threads which are open...thin-skinned people have other choices they can post on and do so.
