I was planning on attending, but I ended up getting my appendix out instead. The thing is, there was nothing wrong with the guy's appendix! That's how bad he wanted to avoid going.

Yea that was a pretty good exuse there.
Better that the typical “I had to sort my sock drawer” or “I pained my shed and i have to make sure it dries right” or “The leaves are about to change and i don’t want to miss it”
