Questions Persist on O’Donnell’s Resume
Wall Street Journal ^ | 09-30-2010 | Danny Yadron

For the record, Delaware Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell did not take classes at England’s Oxford University. But the tea party-backed Republican, who has hit snag after snag since defeating Rep. Mike Castle in this month’s GOP primary, faced questions for the third consecutive day about her education credentials posted on Internet resume sites.

Your immediate previous reference was to what two people do ~ not many people. Big difference.

BTW, my wife knows I use that arguing point so don't get any ideas. It's just a way to put nosiness and bigotry into the correct perspective ~ that, in fact, depending on one's point of view, ANYTHING, even the most progressive of ideas, can be considered a bigotry!

And getting out of bedrooms? Give me a break; we have a regime that wants to take the videos of my last colonoscopic surgery and put them on the internet ~ what kind of privacy is that?

Until we get rid of the Obamistas and their running dog lackeys and levitating giant wookies no appeal to privacy is legitimate.

When you retreat to Ad hominem tactics, you automatically concede your position. Thanks!

Personal expenses related to the campaign - not your apartment rent and bowling.

No. it’s not OK. I for one, don’t think the ends justify the means. She’s been padding her resume since Day 1 and, especially in matters relating to education, that is not OK with me. I hate liars.

If she would just come out and say that's what she was doing, I'd respect her more, and would give her the benefit of the doubt. All she needs to do is come out and say, "Yeah, I was trying to make my resume look a bit better, but I've learned from that, and won't do it again."

Hell, I think O’Donnell is a nutty liar who’s only gotten traction because of the anti-incumbent feelings of the country right now. She’s a crackpot, and she (and Paladino, another nutty one) will give conservatism a bad name in the end.

I haven't heard of Paladino doing anything wrong. He's a good candidate with a good resume and a strong business background.

She’s running, the primary is OVER! You are transparent. Trying to defend yourself/your actions on this conservative site is really obnoxious. If it were my site, you would be banned. Save your “liberal talking points” for someone as clueless as you are.

Yep, silence anyone who would disagree with you. That's exactly what liberals do.

So your point is, as long as its one of OUR guys (or gals), then we don’t care what they do or say. As long as they’re conservative, we back them. And if someone calls a conservative on a lie....you’d ban them? Nice. Sorry, but i’m conservative precisely BECAUSE I demand more. I expect honesty, not revenue padding. In spite of her flaws, as a Delaware native I’m rooting for her. Especially over the bearded Marxist. But she’s said and done some pretty flakey things.

THIS!!!!!!!!! This is the point I am trying to make. Even with her flaws, O'Donnell is still better than Coons, BUT we can't just brush her flaws under the rug. We need to hold her accountable.

Paladino’s got problems, too. He has a 10 year-old daughter he neglected to tell his wife of 40 years about until last year, and he’s got a bad habit of sending off emails one would think beneath the dignity of a guy who wants to be governor - like a woman having sex with a horse. Imagine if you will, the justifiable outrage voiced in this very forum if he were the Democratic candidate - but here, nary a peep. “If he’s got an ‘R’ next to his name, he’s good enough for me...”, seems to be the mantra. The rationalization here is sometimes mind-boggling in its intellectual dishonesty.

I’m not pure by any means. But I do have integrity and expect it others. I don’t lie, and won’t tolerate lying from the people I ask to represent me. Sorry if that’s such a difficult concept, but it’s the way I was raised - too bad more people weren’t.

“And second of all, I’m not whining. I think we have a better chance of beating Obama in 2012 if we don’t have control of the Congress over the next two years and certainly a better chance of beating him if embarrassments like O’Donnell are NOT being ridiculous figures in the Congress during the next two years”

So your idea is that we win by losing?

How’d that work out for you in

........2006?

.........2008?

Inquiring minds want to know.......

It’s not a difficult concept, but the context in this case is but a diversion. This truth is more important than the bait being waved in the headlines.

You stick to you ethic, and I’ll stick to mine. I’m just glad my morality isn’t situational.

Nonsense. Your criticism is completely situational lacking consideration of the consequences of electing proponents of abortion, taxation, and all the other pernicious devices of Leftism. The resume is a diversion.

Sorry I can’t be as uh, pragmatic, as you. The resume merely the tip of the iceberg, and is not a diversion. Christine O’Donnell is a pathological liar whose election, while representing a short term gain, will only result in long term harm of the conservative movement. I won’t work for a liar and I won’t have one working for me. I thought conservatives stood for values like hard work, honesty, and integrity, but truth be told, when the chips are down, guys like you will do whatever it takes to get anybody elected, as long as they’ve got an ‘R’ next to the name - I won’t - it’s not worth it to me to sacrifice my integrity over something that is ultimately as meaningless as a sporting event. But don’t mind me, you go right ahead.

You would not be sacrificing your integrity if you were to vote for the candidate who is less likely to promote the killing of unborn children, who is less likely to tax your progeny to death, and who is less likely to further the destruction of our sovereignty and our Constitution.

You may call that amoral pragmatism, but I considerate it an obvious choice.

I respect your point of view FRiend even though I gave you a hard time.

The Wall Street Journal is a neo-con rag.

And why isn't anyone looking at Coon's and what he stands for?

She is the duly chosen GOP candidate for the Senate seat.

Stop slinging mud at her.
