Recently, Christine ODonnell, a candidate associated with the Tea Party, won the Republican Senate primary in Delaware who among many other things sued a former employer for gender discrimination claiming that she suffered mental anguish. What ODonnell is also known for is her views on sex particularly her anti-masturbation views. ODonnell appeared on MTV back in the 90′s explaining her views of sex and masturbation which is available here on youtube.
Watch the youtube video and take note of the end. Except for a token guy, its a group of women. ODonnell even says about her presumably future husband masturbating, If he already knows what pleases him, and he can please himself, then why am I in the picture? This quote exposes the undercurrent behind anti-masturbation attitudes. Its not so much anti-masturbation but anti men masturbating. People against masturbation have a fear that men might actually have an alternative to women. The answer to ODonnells question should be obvious. A woman would ideally be providing more than a mans hand both sexually and not.
When it comes to a woman who cant/wont contribute to a relationship non-sexually (a growing group of women particularly among younger women), and who is planning on trying to control a man through providing a minimum of sex, then she has a lot to worry about when it comes to men realizing that their hand will do more for them than a woman will. The obvious answer to this is for women not to be harpies who withhold sex as a means of controlling men, but its unlikely they will change in that regard. Instead, we will see more anti-male masturbation shaming language.

"Theyre Afraid Of Men Masturbating"
That title seems vaguely frightening, actually.
I guess you've explained it.
I hope you've explained it.
I know I sure don't want to dream about it.
I am not young now and I wasn’t young then. It had nothing to do with her not being enough for me. I told you why but you didn’t get it.
CHRISTIAN CAGE told me it's not his blog, so I guess he just posts spearhead's blog.
What she actually believes is quite compelling and will win a lot of votes. I think the analysis is wrong. it might be true for some, but i don’t think for Christine. Let’s look deeper, or more broadly. Masturbation is just one of a wide variety of things that she’s discussed and you get a clear, and good, picture of her.

That’s whole bunch of “crazy” things that the American people will love.
Here’s a few.
Not only is she [Britney Spears] sending a dangerous message about sexuality to girls, but I think shes setting the feminist movement back a bit, too, because shes saying that sexuality is the core of our identity.
gonna fight that?
They think it’s controversial, because Christine is saying britney spears is dangerous. Bring it on. We win feminists with that! Only a certain type of elite mentality disagrees with her.
I think that this show is very dangerous, especially to the womens movement. Its no wonder people call it Sluts in the City because it teaches young women to be whores, basically, to be used by men, to bed hop. And it ignores the fact that you know when you are treating sex like this that theres shame, theres loneliness that follows. And I think that the characters on this show are very revealing in that they long for a true relationship. They long for something meaningful in their lives.
Christine is anti loneliness. The media is pro loneliness.
Christine is pro meaningful. The media is anti meaningful.
Bring it on. Bring it on.
Rove goes out an attacks O'Donnell after she won the nomination. What's the point of that?
Do you think he won’t vote right?
I don’t get your point. She’s gonna win. Are you saying these things are going to hurt Christine?
Liberal hate Rove, Rove attacks Christine, Liberals like Christine.
Last I heard, “jerk” or “jerkoff” was still a pejorative moniker....
This whole line of argumentation is a goldmine for Christine.
Asked if she could understand why gays might be upset? by someone calling homosexuality a deviant sexual orientation, ODonnell replied, Absolutely not. I cannot understand. [Hannity & Colmes, 6/26/00]
By integrating women into particularly military institutes, it cripples the readiness of our defense, ODonnell has said. She also argued that West Point has had to lower their standards in order for men and women to compete [Politico, 9/16/10]
This is not about merely a Baptist doctrine. This is a biblical doctrine. And the passage from the Bible the Baptist article is taken from talks about a submissive family. And yet, what the media seems to be reacting to is the word submit in the wives. But yet, even in, Mary, your introduction, you ignored or you left out where it says they graciously submit to a servant leader. And that is Gods design for the family. It is not about dominating and it is not about being a slave to your husband. [CNN, 6/11/98]
Is the above 29(?) year old girl trying to use sex as a weapon? No sireeee. Keep that manhating fiction going.
And another thing that’s interesting, is that sometimes she’s speaking as a spokesperson for another organization.
So which is “her” and which is “spokesperson”? That’s not really going to matter and maybe there is no distinction.
Were not a slave to our sexuality. Our sexuality is a gift for us to be used in the context of marriage, and we need to support young people in that, and teach them the facts that 12,000 teenagers a day contract sexually transmitted diseases. And the only way to protect yourself from this is to save sex for marriage, and then to remain in a monogamous, committed marriage.
Most people think this is true. And if the election was held on this issue, she’d win big.
Ok, but the principle comes first.
Is it right?
how many of you would have that type of courage?
Taken out of context, they sound silly but if you bother to go into what is taught, you will see that Christianity traditionally emphasized that sex was for procreation and spousal love, not pleasure. So a man who masturbates all the time and uses porn is not exactly preparing himself for a time to give loving pleasure to his spouse: he view sex as his RIGHT, not a privilege.
And since it's his RIGHT to pleasure, his wife is in trouble if she is pregnant, tired, or merely at the wrong time of the month and doesn't want to make love.
That gives him an excuse to spend hours on the computer with porn, or worse, go out to a bar and find a hooker, because it's his right to sexual pleasure.
So if you think she is a kook, then I guess you commit adultery or fornication in your heart( a condition Jesus commented on in Scripture), when you whack off looking at the swimsuit edition.
The stuff I have heard about her is pretty tame compared to going to a foreign country and learning to hate your country. He came back a communist. Lets see, what was that country that changed him?..........Oh yeah, it was Kenya. Fancy that. Maybe his father had dreams too.
In case anyone has forgotten the link...
She’s within $6,175.00 dollars of hitting the $2 million dollar mark.
She started out trying to get to $250,000.00.
You gotta love it.
I think her comments on m are silly, but then I don’t know the full context of what what going on there anyway.
Taking her to task for stupidity in high school and concerning m, is diversion.
She seems to support Conservative principles today. That’s what I care about.
It is not your country. STFU
Can we please put this non-issue to rest already? Christine O’Donnell is a Catholic. The Catholic Church has always taught that masturbation, in particular, male masturbation, is a sin. The Old Testament upholds the fact that masturbation is a sin, in the story of Onan. Christine was professing her faith. Period. End of story.
ALL Christians should be as supportive of Christine as she is in her faith.
It’s nice to hear that O’Donnell was already in the media discussing public health issues 15 years ago. She continues to impress, even if at the time her thoughts were those of a young person who’s thought processes were still not fully
settled.
