Playing the role of the devil’s advocate here let me just say I wonder if he skipped that line because, like me, he knew he didn’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell of pronouncing “unalienable” correctly? I have always dreaded that sentence simply because it contained a word that I have seldom, if ever, been able to say correctly.

I doubt the conservative anger against this will backfire because Obama hates “bitter clingers” so much. But is it possible that the easy [and laughable] spin is, “Verbal brevity. People shorten statements all the time, and these attacks against me are ridiculous.”
Verbal brevity is not in his lexicon, but that’s the possible spin.
I think it might be safer to challenge him with harsh questions about this rather than to openly claim this is proof of anything.
On the other hand, I think they nailed him:
