Michelle Rollins was beaten by Glen Urquhart.
This was almost as big of an upset as Christine’s.
Rollins is the widow of John Rollins.a big-time republican donor. Rollins was the establishment candidate.
Urquhart is a Sussex County developer. He will take on Lt.Gov. John Carney.

A GOP majority Senate with Collins, Snowe, Brown and Graham means nothing but trouble.

Exactly. I’d be fine with a 53D-47R Senate, even, if it means Mike Castle isn’t a senator.

There’s always 2012 and 2014 to make “additional changes”

A 47 GOP Senate Number...with the majority of New Palin/Demint conservatives coming inwould equal a 60 GOP RINO senate.

“I’d rather take my chances with a Conservative.”

You make a good point. RINO supporters emphasize committee control, an obvious important point. Beyond the committee, however, RINOs especially someone like Castle, are not dependable for passing conservative legislation and stopping leftist legislation.

Beyond Senate operations, extreme RINOs weaken the Republican brand. Independent voters reject Republicans reasoning that political party differences are minor. RINOs stopped and weakened many legislative efforts from 2002 to 2006. The rats have passed a flood of terrible legislation and administration rulings since 2009. Conservatives had little success in 2002 to 2006 because of the RINOs. Whenever lefties argue that Bush destroyed the economy, I ask them to refer to specific policies and legislation that Bush and conservatives supported. They can never identify any legislation except ones that the rats also supported or extended when they took power. For example, many lefties criticize the prescription drug benefit but rats have made this even more costly.

Even when we had a majority GOP Senate, conservatives were still in the minority and the Senate typically caved on everything liberal even when it didn’t have to.

We are behind in WA, even in NV

No were are not in NV. Last weeks Rasmussen polls it as tied. The last poll, from Time/CNN has Angle up 1.

Sounds like O’Donnell could use some more money.

I just sent in my second small donation to her and she is now over $ 1,510,000 in TWO DAYS.

That doesn't count the $150,000 from DeMint and $42,000 from the pubbies.

Don't tell me that she can't win, she's running against a guy that publicly declared himself to be a "bearded MARXIST" and don't tell me he was too young to know what a marxist was, he was a college student.

The rabid dems will Palinize and trash her and even make things up.

The other RINO Republican that voted for all of Obama’s crap that she defeated in the primaries needs to step up and endorse her and concede the election already- or the very reasoning all RINO’s are being voted out will be so very clear and more precisely done.

It could equal a 99 RINO Senate.

Charlie Cook is an analyst. Which means he’s backward-looking, believing the past is the key to the future.

Interesting that the 2 states the Dems are trying to shore up with Obama and Biden visits are Conn. and Delaware.

Coons is not just an average Democrat, he’s a far-left ideologue with a passion for raising taxes. Lot’s of folks in Delaware have not yet digested that fact, whereas everything that could be said, truthful or not about O’Donnell is probably already out there.

And being named Harry Reid’s Official Obedient Lap Dog is not going to help him at all.

In the “extras” categories, all the passion is going to be on the O’Donnell side and probably most of the money.

Need to remind these pencil pushing psychics... last time we worried about “””51”””, we got the “GANG of 14”!!! and an added bonus was “Jumpin’ Jim” Jeffords.

I held my nose and voted for Juan McLAME, only because of his running mate. NEVERMORE.

Here’s a good Rasmussen summation of the senate races as they now stand:

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2010/election_2010_senate_elections/election_2010_senate_balance_of_power

And I think the wiser heads believe we need to let the Delaware situation settle down for a week or two before the new polls will be very accurate.

If the Senate gets close then the GOP would just lose another Spector. My bet is on Olympia Snowe.

The RINO weeding process will probably take another two elections and a national bankruptcy/default.

Whoa. For $1.7M, I would think you could pretty much literally buy every media outlet in Delaware, which is about as big as the county I live in.

My inside opinion is that Angle takes Nevada by a good margin. Myself and others have a horrific amount of dirt on Harry. It turns out he is a philanderer, which wouldn’t matter so much except he is a Mormon and some of the girls were likely at the mobbed up Mustang Ranch brothel. Yup, that kind of corrupt dirt which includes bribery.

Charlie, the problem is that even with Castle as a 51st vote, a GOP-lead Senate wouldn’t be worth spit. Castle has proved that HE is worth LESS than spit with his gracelessness in defeat, and his refusal to endorse Christine. Man, did we have this phony pegged right or what? And the same goes for Murkowski! We will no longer accept the “boob bait” of moderates just to obtain a pyrrhic majority. Bob

The fallacy, the lie in this drivel is that even if she lost and her opponent actually elected, it would not be a Republican senate.

The man is a Delaware Pennsylvania wanna be who would Olympia Snow in britches. He is a liberal who could not be counted on.

Castle was polling 10 points over the Democrat. O'Donnell is polling 11 points under the Democrat. Despite being a tea party favorite, she is not a great candidate and probably won't win this race. I think Cook is right to say this decreases the chances of the Republicans controlling the Senate...but that was always a long shot.

It does worry me that the people on this board seem to have so much invested in this race. There are conservatives in close races all over this country that could use some money and, IMO, conservatives would get more bang for their buck by supporting them. Controlling the statehouses is very important in a redistricting year and a little money makes a great deal of difference in these races. And that is the level that walking door-to-door handing out campaign literature is important...because these races don't get a lot of coverage and people are often unaware of who their state senator and/or representative are.
