Former Iraqi government spokesman Leith Kubbah lets the cat out of the bag on a developing U.S.-Iran deal.
Leith Kubbah, a former Iraqi government spokesman who currently resides in Washington, told the Iraqi daily al-Zaman that the U.S. is preparing a major package deal with Iran for sharing influence in the region in which Iraq will the central element. The deal will be implemented within two years.
He said that the Obama administration is preparing the working papers and documents for the negotiations with Iran.
The first question that comes to mind is, should one read this as the US is negotiating with Iran, or the US is helping Iraq negotiate with Iran? I was tempted to think the latter, until I came across the final, ominous sentence in the story.

I just read that, and this has got to be hogwash.
I can’t imagine that even Zero would stoop to this level. He may be getting himself impeached.
If you go back to 2003 you'll find that the major beneficiary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq has been -- you guessed it -- IRAN.
Am I reading this right? Iraq being turned over to Iran like the Sudetenland was turned over to Hitler, in exchange for “peace in our time”?
Zero is going to do what Zero wants. Anyone not understanding that Zero has been part and parcel of the muslim takeover from the beginning needs his head boiled.
Also, forget about the supposed unbridgeable rift between the shiites and the wahhab sunnis. It is strictly for when they don't have any other fights going. AQ's VIP's have had safe haven in Iran for a decade, at least. For all intents and purposes, Iran *is* AQ, and vice versa.
The U.S.'s major concern, he said, is preserving its influence in Iraq for the medium- and long-term, withdrawing U.S. forces from the country, preventing Iraq from descending into civil war, and blocking Iran from filling the vacuum.
Hand over control of Iraq to Iran? Holy Moly!!! Americans lost their life over this?? I don’t believe it would happen for one second.
