In a Der Speigel interview with Congressman John Lewis:
SPIEGEL: Has there been any change in the African-American community brought on by his presidency?Lewis: He has instilled a sense of hope. People need hope. I'll give you an example: I have a Congressional colleague from California who, out on the street one day, saw a young black man, as is the fashion these days, with his pants hanging down, showing his underwear. This young lady said to the man: "Pull up your pants. Son, pull up your pants for Barack Obama."
And do you know what happened next?
The man pulled up his pants.
So inspirational! So profound!
Like sagging poll numbers, President Obama would like America to pull up their pants, and not just figuratively and metaphorically speaking. In 2008 he said this:

A city in Georgia has outlawed pants showing one’s underdrawers. Frankly, my biggest beef with this (although I am appalled at the vulgarity of it as well) is that it is exceptionally unhygienic. Everytime I see one of these clowns sitting somewhere, what is going through my mind is that there is now only the think cotton barrier b/t the idiot’s anus and wherever he is sitting. Just gross. There is a reason we wear undergarments to begin with and it is to keep our clothes clean so we can wear them more than once if we wish to do so. I have a hunch if we took a swab of the chairs these guys were sitting on, we might be able to grow some nice e-coli or who knows what else.
LOL!! It can always be worse... you are so right.
PANTS ON THE GROUND, PANTS ON THE GROUND..Look’in like a “fool” with your pants on the ground..!
I call people that do this “baby-steppers”, b/c you can’t take but baby steps or your pants will fall down when running from the cops.
