Charles Krauthammer rips 'irresponsible' Palin (and DeMint, for O'Donnell endorsements)
The Politico ^ | September 14, 2010 | Andy Barr

Leading conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer has rebuked former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) for making the “irresponsible” choice of endorsing Christine O’Donnell over Rep. Mike Castle in the Delaware GOP Senate primary.

“The Palin endorsement, I think, is disruptive and capricious,” Krauthammer said Monday night on Fox News’ “Special Report.” “Bill Buckley had a rule that he always supported the most conservative candidate who was electable, otherwise the vote is simply self-indulgence.”

Palin has weighed in heavily in the race, cutting robocalls for O’Donnell that have been bombarding the state’s GOP voters, who head to the polls Tuesday.

“Delaware is not Alaska,” Krauthammer said of the state’s former Republican governor....

Delaware may not be Alaska, but all 50 states are sick of business as usual in DC. We are reforming our party, and we’ll be reforming the Democrat party in about 50 days...both against their will.

Yeah, God forbid the little guy not go with the beltway insider’s choice! How dare “we the people” choose who we want instead of what they want.

Nice... Then you are pulling for another GOP representative government (maybe like Bush) that has no conservative values and spends like the Democrats? Maybe you should go back and read Krauthammer again and see if he represents your values.

I like that! Perhaps they will 'get it'. It's 'we the people' who are in charge, not our servants.

This looks like insider anger over the gender discrimination lawsuit O'Donnell filed. My guess is that she will start polling better but will get attacked by the Dems for her personal issues.

These Beltway Boys sat on their duffs and let Zer0 come from nowhere to win the presidency. There was no scrutiny of his credentials and there was no effort to tell the American electorate that they were about to elect a Marxist. They have no clue for their responsibility for selling America down the river. And as America is going down the river, they find no responsibility about telling America where we are going.

The message we are sending should be clear enough. It is not enough to simply have a R after your name. I’d rather lose the Delaware seat to the Dems with O’Donnell (which is by NO means certain) than win it with a Democrat in Republican clothing like Castle. I’m sick of there being no difference between the two parties.

“Bill Buckley had a rule that he always supported the most conservative candidate who was electable, otherwise the vote is simply self-indulgence.”

How much longer is that going to work?

Voters need to be presented with an ultimatum. Democrats and RINOS (electable republicans) will give you what you want. Free stuff.

Your national debt is 13 Trillion. Your unfunded liabilities are 110 Trillion. Climbing by a Trillion+ per year.

How much longer do you think that can go on? Until you die, if you're lucky, and screw everybody that comes after you?

“Bill Buckley had a rule that he always supported the most conservative candidate who was electable, otherwise the vote is simply self-indulgence.”

Bill Buckley also supported Goldwater and Reagan.

He went against the grain.

Well boo hoo. Palin is free to support whoever she wants, just as Krauthammer is welcome to support whomever he wants, and the people can choose whoever they want. So far it seems that Palin and the people are generally on the same page.

Fine, but electing more of the “most electable” isn’t going to fix the problem. We’re broke. We need politicians who are willing to say “there isn’t any more” come hell or high water.

It appears the battle lines are drawn.

On one side, are Democrats and Republicans.

On the other side, is the Tea Party -- the American people
