Challenge Accepted: Conservative gay organization head agrees to debate WorldNetDaily editor
The Daily Caller ^ | September 4, 2010 Updated September 5, 2010 | Chris Moody

Posted on 09/05/2010 10:56:10 AM PDT by Kaslin

In the wake of a dispute between WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah and conservative author Ann Coulter over her decision to headline an event sponsored by GOProud, a gay conservative organization, Farah and GOProud Chairman Christopher Barron will square off in a debate later this month at WND’s convention.

Barron told The Daily Caller that Farah challenged him to debate over whether GOProud can be considered “conservative” after Farah argued on his site that there is no place within conservatism for an organization like GOProud, a group that promotes itself as “the only national organization representing gay conservatives and their allies.” TheDC is waiting for confirmation from WND about the debate’s details.

Farah dropped Coulter from a speaking engagement at WND’s annual “Taking America Back” convention in Miami for agreeing to speak at GOProud’s “Homocon” party in New York. (Coulter later said that Farah had never actually booked her for a speech, calling him a “swine” and a “publicity whore.”)

Farah contends that groups like GOProud are trying to commit a “coup” to unroot the conservative movement with an “agenda…to take the homosexual agenda inside the conservative tent.”

Barron insists that his group is genuinely conservative and said he looks forward taking on Farah in front of a WND crowd.

“Since we announced that conservative author and columnist Ann Coulter would be headlining our Homocon 2010 in New York City, Farah has attacked GOProud, attacked Ann, and challenged our work almost every single day,” Barron said in a statement to The Daily Caller. “I look forward to standing on the stage with Mr. Farah to defend GOProud, to debunk the misinformation he has spread, and to make the case for GOProud’s conservative mission.”

Barron added that conservatism stands at a major crossroads in its acceptance of gays into the movement. A number of high profile conservatives, including Lisa De Pasquale of the Conservative Political Action Conference, Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform and former General Counsel to the National Republican Senatorial Committee Craig Engle, have signed on as official sponsors of GOProud’s event.

The debate will be held on September 17 at 7:30 PM at the Doral Golf and Spa Resort in Miami, Florida.

I understand. I think it’s the same with my sister. It’s all she knows. She did have a boyfriend when she was in her late teens, but broke off the engagement. He was such a nice boy.

So, the thread is about GOProud, the gay conservative org,

I politely asked you to read the GOProud's legislative agenda that I posted on this thread and to tell which of the points are conservative.

You did not. Please do so.

And then they are emotionally needy and vulnerable, perfect targets for homosexual predators.

The love of my brothers life was named Martha. Her father refused to let her marry my brother. They were kids, 18. There was never another one. After that he never looked back.

This is all I am doing with respect to GOProud. I think the principle figures behind GOProud are genuine conservatives. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my view at present. If you or others can persuade me otherwise, that's fine. I'll turn on them in a nanosecond. You (all) just haven't been very persuasive so far.

How many times do I have to ask you to read their freaking legislative agenda?????

Here it is, not conservative other than a nod to the Second Amendment and lip service to “holding the line” on gov spending, while demanding Big Gov spending and enforcing the homosexual agenda. So explain how this militant homosexual agenda laundry list is conservative.

Federal Legislative Priorities

GOProud’s Conservative Agenda

The so-called “gay agenda” is defined by the left through a narrow prism of legislative goals. While hate crimes and employment protections may be worthy goals, there are many other important priorities that receive little attention from the gay community. GOProud’s agenda emphasizes conservative and libertarian principles that will improve the daily lives of all Americans, but especially gay and lesbian Americans.

1 – TAX REFORM - Death tax repeal; domestic partner tax equity, and other changes to the tax code that will provide equity for gays and lesbians; cut in the capital gains and corporate tax rates to jump start our economy and create jobs; a fairer, flatter and substantially simpler tax code.

2 – HEALTHCARE REFORM – Free market healthcare reform. Legislation that will allow for the purchase of insurance across state lines – expanding access to domestic partner benefits; emphasizing individual ownership of healthcare insurance – such a shift would prevent discriminatory practices by an employer or the government.

3 – SOCIAL SECURITY REFORM - Bringing basic fairness to the Social Security system through the creation of inheritable personal savings accounts.

4 – DON’T ASK, DON’T TELL REPEAL – Repeal of the military’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy.

5 – HOLDING THE LINE ON SPENDING – Standing up for all tax payers against wasteful and unneccessary spending to protect future generations from the mounting federal debt.

6 – FIGHTING GLOBAL EXTREMISTS – Standing strong against radical regimes who seek to criminalize gays and lesbians.

7 – DEFENDING OUR CONSTITUTION – Opposing any anti-gay federal marriage amendment.

8 – ENCOURAGING COMMUNITY ENTREPRENEURSHIP – Package of free market reforms to encourage and support small businesses and entrepreneurship in the gay community.

9 – REVITALIZING OUR COMMUNITIES – A package of urban related reforms; expanding historic tax preservation credits; support for school choice.

10 – DEFENDING OUR COMMUNITY – Protecting 2nd amendment rights.

I posted Chris Barrons tweet to Stultis. And the agenda. He doesn’t care what the truth is.

I know. I just want him to explain how the above is in any way “conservative”. His assertion is a lie and I want him to explain his position.

She was a sweet, shy, blond girl that was somewhat homely and very housewifely. Liked to cook, sew etc. A nice girl. She was miserable in her marriage. Daddy picked her husband. Someone he liked.

Why are you getting mad at me? Take it up with the management, which hath decreed dissenters shall not speak on such matters.

Wassa matter? Can't enjoy enforced assent?

You were asked repeatedly beforehand about the homosexual agenda that the Log Cabiners espouse.
You ignored it.
Probably because you agree with it wholeheartedly.

Probably because you agree

Well, we'll never know now, will we? since it is verboten for me to say.

You were asked repeatedly

Yeah. You may have noticed I was dealing with multiple respondents, and for the most part trying to post substantively, with supporting documentation, which takes some time to collect and organize. I probably would have gotten to you, with the reminder, but like I say we'll never know.

I since you did not speak up in protest when I, and other posters, were repeatedly threatened with banning, I'm sure you're cool with not knowing, and with me being silenced on the subject.

Yet, strangely, you don't seem to be. You seem to want to discuss and debate the topic. Odd, that. Isn't it?

(And those folks who shouted me down suddenly upset at my not answering. This is actually starting to get pretty damn amusing, in a sad sort of way.)

“Well, we’ll never know now, will we?”

Considering how you’ve been cheerleading the homosexual agenda as espoused by the newly renovated log cabiners, yes we pretty much can guess.

And while you acknowledge you were repatedly asked, it is the height of dishonesty to turn around and whine about it having been asked once it is clear that the butt banditry will not be getting any traction here on FR.
That is claiming, “I was GONNA tell you, but now I won’t!”
You were never going to address it.
You knew your position is untenable.

I asked you way earlier on the thread before management entered the discussion. You refused to acknowledge my question about the GOProud’s Legislative agenda, which I posted, and yet continued to assert that their agenda was conservative.

Now you’re kvetching! Sheesh.

What Darksheare said.

You had plenty of chance to explain how the GOProud agenda is conservative. Apparently you still can. But you post comment after comment claiming that you can’t say anything any more. If they’re so conservative, I don’t see why you can’t explain how homosexuals in the military, same sex marriage, special monies for “gay” owned businesses, hassling other countries who aren’t “gay” friendly enough, Social Security benefits for same sex partners etc are conservative.

Makes no sense.

Wow! You're really upset. Shame it may not be discussed. Isn't it?

Like I say, if it wasn't a sad spectacle of conservatives acting like censorious leftists, who turn even on their own for deviancy from political correctness, this would be hilarious.

You have that wrong. And you can't fool us. The homosexual agenda is listed in the Communist Manifesto as one of the things to be used to destroy America. And you back it. It is a liberal agenda. It is a PC agenda. There is nothing conservative about it.
