Coming soon. The Obama do it yourself home surgery kit. For those easily done minor operations. Appendectomys and others. Why waste money at the hospital or on expensive capitalist doctors?

Frightening. We’ve been hearing for years how the government has been killing off older folks in Britain, and now it is going to happen here.

Just days after the recess appointment of Donald Berwick, the controversial new head of Medicare and Medicaid, the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance posted the following grim news: for the first time in history, an FDA-approved anti-cancer therapy may not be covered by Medicare.

Death panels can now be denied by democrats. Donald Berwick, single-handedly will see to it that those with terminal, chronic and costly illnesses are dispatched quickly and efficiently. Voters of the nation be advised - this will apply to each and every one of us who ever will use or is using Medicare under Obama's appointee dictates.

Band together senior citizens - vote these jackals who feast on us and whatever misery they can cause us out of office.

Dendreon's about 4 blocks away from me....I'm friends with the doctor who manages the instrument that separates and tags the patients blood cells, (prior to or just after the cells have been trained - I can't recall which.)

Apparently, the treatment only adds an average of 4 months to the patient's life so, I'm actually OK with not spending 7-8 thousand dollars for 4 extra months.

And why use a “vaccine” to “treat” a prostate cancer recurrence?

I think the reporter needs to go back and get his story straight.

Really? I would have gladly paid 7-8K for another 4 or so months with my Dad...but that’s just me, I guess.

I don't recall a President that showed so much contempt for Seniors. It's as if he's done the math and his reports are showing that since Seniors do not have the opportunity to vote in many more voting cycles they can thus be treated in a disproportionately shabby manner.

My wife's uncle had lung cancer and he said no to three more months. I respected his decision..but he made it, not some bureaucrat.

No - I mean they will now deny death panels - since accusations about them have been swirling ever since before Obamacare was shoved down our throats. Now this particular appointee can take SOLE responsibility for instructing those under himself to do the dirty work - no death panel required - only instructions followed by the idiots who see their "vision" of doing whatever this administration's czars/appointees/Obama himself/democrats/liberals dirty work as fulfilling Obama's agenda. They'll turn this into the opposite of what it truly is - like they've been doing all along.

My< how compassionate of you. I wonder if you would feel the same if it was your last 4 months of life.

My aunt was telling me that my uncle (her husband) has some urinary tract problem — he has been to the doctor’s twice, only he has yet to see the doctor. Both times he was seen by a nurse practitioner. All that was done was give him some antibiotics and send him on his way. He still has the problem.

Welcome to Obamacare, Aunt Helen and Uncle Joe!

I should have qualified that....I don't believe the government should be involved in healthcare, so I'm adverse to expenditures like this. If a private plan wants to cover it, I'm all for it.

And even though there's no doubt Dendreon's doing incredible work and I hope they keep extending their success, it's 4 bad months: you're still dying from cancer.

I don't think I'd want this treatment - facing four more months of misery before the inevitable doesn't sound appealing to me.

I’d be fine with it. Those aren’t party months: you’re still in misery and dying of cancer.
