Reports that WikiLeak documents are useless and mundane are simply not true. This is a demonstration of how much information a trained experienced analyst can extract from one of these declassified mundane documents.

Analysis
In November 2005 HEZB-ISLAMI Party Leader, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, the political face of Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, and Dr. Amin, Bin Ladins financial advisor, traveled to North Korea via Iran.
While in Iran they made a deal to purchase Surface to Air Missiles to be used against coalition aircraft. It is not clear whether Al-Qaeda received any anti-aircraft missiles yet; or how many additional meetings were held.
Nevertheless, since North Korea needs money and will sell just about anything to anybody this is valuable information.
North Korean weapons have to move through Iran

A real powder keg.
Of course they are.
- I snarfed the files once they were up there, and the first - the very first thing - I saw at a glance was data on Afghan informants names and money changing hands. That’s murder right there.
- At least one of the Taliban websites - (meaning all of them, they have a bunch) - had the files as 1st-day. Not for distribution to the unwashed, of course, but for the Talibs.
- There was an immediate action from the democrat left to save the leaker, drumming up lawyers and money. The guy who blew the whistle has been threatened by people at MIT, and by the “hacker community” who are self-identifying as “internationalist”. That is particularly significant - that community has not been much politically engaged, but are now neatly falling into the militant box.
Why doesn’t this guy go after 0bama and his birth certificates and his “baptism” certificate etc and expose something really dangerous.
BUT! He keeps releasing and releasing and nothing is done, can they do something beside sit with their thumbs ‘well placed’?

They were not declassified, they were stolen.
