“Mmmmm....all that seafood sounds SO good! Too bad I live in the desert!”

I live about 20 miles from the Massachusetts seashore.
I’ll trade houses with you if you like.
Besides fried clams I don’t like seafood and i really don’t like living in Massachusetts either.

LOL! I’m afraid that Massachusetts’ politics would get the best
of me. If I want seafood REALLY bad, Texas has a huge shore
along the Gulf and the oil spill didn’t affect any of it. :D

Thanks for the thought though. LOL!

Hey PJ, What do you do with the 800 jars of sauce and the 750 stick of deoderant etc once you get them?

Actually that was 300 BO sticks which is a sore point with me because I should have had 750 BO sticks. Unfortunately, I opened my big mouth to a friend and gave him a tip on getting those coupons and he glommed them from a couple of my spots. Now you know why I am reluctant to divulge more info than I already am. Converting via barter to stuff I need is easy. BTW, I just had over $2000 worth of bathroom remodeling done free via barter. Our shower pan was leaking so the walls and floor had to be torn out to replace pan. So while replacing pan the rest of the bathroom was redone. It took about 3 months to get it done because my friend had to work around his schedule but it finally got done. Some of the spaghetti sauce bottles went to him, along with BO sticks, fish oil pills, toothpaste, wing dinners, dry cat food, etc..

Part of our food tastes comes from where we grew up.

Absolutely. And 'how' we grew up as well. My family is of German descent both sides so that's where my food tastes come from. An occasional fish fry is alright, but I can't get it served with potato pancakes down here in Illinois (at least where I'm at) so that's a minus right there. I remember that oh so well when I was growing up in Wisconsin.

You write of first memories. Mine are of Christmas & New Year celebrations where my mom would make Sultz, and my uncle would bring Spickganz (goose breast brined for a week, then smoked for another week). We'd sit around the kitchen with black bread & butter, eating both until gone. Mercy!

In five days, I picked up 820 bottles of spaghetti sauce.

My gosh. I think I used the same coupons but I stopped at 16. Didn't have room on my shelves for much more than that.

Part of our food tastes comes from where we grew up.

I grew up in the most Jewish neighborhood in the city of Chicago during the '50s and '60s. And so I, a Swedish Lutheran, loves me some Jewish deli food! Lox and cream cheese on a bagel, with red onions and capers--YUM!!

Just yesterday, here in St. Louis, I had an Einstein bagel with their smoked salmon shmear on it. Not quite as good as their bagel with actual lox and cream cheese, onions, and capers, but it was considerably less expensive. Einstein's was running a special on a thin bagel with shmear, plus a coffee, for only about $3.50.

I stockpile my stuff in the stairwell. Usually they are there for no more than a few days since my turnaround time is quick. I never had more than 300 bottles of spaghetti sauce at one time because I traded them off almost as soon as I got them. Thursday, I took 280 down to Miami and while doing so, I had a horrible vision of getting into a crash and then covered with the sauce of all those bottles. Fortunately, it didn’t happen and all went smoothly.

My family lived in the near West side of Chicago and attended First Immanuel Lutheran at Ashland and Roosevelt. When I came along we’d already gravitated to Oak Park, then moved to South East Wisconsin in ‘55.

I love bagels and cream cheese and onion, or buttered and with jam. But I’ll pass on the lox and capers and salmon. But that’s just me...

Psst! With the reusable Eintein’s coupon, you can get a whole box of bagels for half price...just 7 bucks plus shmears. Coupon good until 8-22. But if one is smart, he can score FREE Einstein’s bagels. And on that I am shutting my mouth. I am still irked over getting screwed out of the coupons that would have enabled me to get an extra 400+ BO sticks.

How you can go over to this insane website day after day amazes me. You are a tougher man than I am..... oh wait.... I am not a man, I am an old lady! I guess that is it! I used to go over from time to time to DU but I haven’t been able to put up with the nausea that it causes lately. I guess age is the key, lots of things I can’t do anymore. Keep up the good work Pea Jay! ,:@)

Just yesterday, here in St. Louis, I had an Einstein bagel with their smoked salmon shmear on it.

Since yesterday was Friday, I hoped you used the reusable Einstein coupon for a FREE bagel before 11 AM on Fridays. Of course, there is another way to score FREE Einstein bagels but I better keep quiet about that.

I did not even KNOW about any Einstein coupon, much less a reusable one! Is this something that can be printed off the internets or what?

Hey PJ, How far is your favorite casino from Boynton Beach?

The Seminole Hollywood casino used to be a favorite but they have become stingy on their free play. I used to be able to score free play about twice a month but then they changed their policy. The way to go is to buy an entire Las Vegas vacation package(s) including free play. I am now trying to figure out how to use coupons to purchase them. Once I figure that out I just might buy at least a half dozen such packages at a time. Just a matter of research.

About 5 years ago i joined the Players club Comp whatever at Harrahs in Vegas.
Ever since i have yet to pay hardly anything for a room there.
Harrahs owns like 7 hotels in Las Vegas.
Last year i stay 5 nights at the Paris for $0.00.
Last month, because i was in a rush and didn’t schedule properly I endend up having to pay $50 bucks for 4 nights.

It’s the Airfare that kills you.

There is a way to get cheap airfare. I met a guy who told me how he flies to Alaska for only around 80 bucks.

Of course, the guy lives in the Yukon Territory. . . .

[I was going to say "Ted Stevens?" but that would have been in bad taste.]
