I can name two, Reagan and Clinton.

The point being that anything over 50% disapproval, while not something the White House is smiling about, does not make Obama’s defeat automatic.

Clinton had the entire MSM on his side and a third (hired) party that took 15% of the "rights" vote. Reagan had the ENTIRE MSM against him... hence the lower ratings.

Agree...

What will control this is the economy and unemployment. I hope the economy gets better, but given the policies in place, I don’t see it happening. Neither Carter nor Reagan had to deal with 10% unemployment upon re-election. Add to the fact that Dear Reader will be defending continued war (hurting him with the base), higher taxes (hurting him with taxpayers), health care taxation, and immigration (both sides will bash him, just like they did Bush) and his re-election is in tenuous at best.

Factually incorrect. Reagan was well over 50% approval all during 1984 Clinton was over 50% starting in Feb of 1996
