Realistically, AC and heat are the only sizeable loads in an electric car (apart from the motor). They’re measured in kilowatts, while everything else is measured in watts.

People in the Northeastern United States would be damn fools to buy an electric car without knowing how they’ll operate in the frigid winters we have here.

Cold weather has a very negative effect on car batteries,Not to forget snow and ice on the ground that tend to make driving much more difficult.

I don't see much of a future for eclectic cars, but I do see a huge market for more CNG vehicles, especially in metro areas.

It requires premium gas also. They should have made it to run on E85 to make it really inefficient.

then why NOT force people to buy a particular car?

What is your special need that makes you so special as to NEED a car, komrade? The days of fat, lazy, beer-guzzling Americans going for joy-rides in their auto-mo-biles is OVER~!

Hey, I'm in favor of it as there's a business opportunity here...I'll hook up my big equipment trailer to that great big 4by Cummins turbo Diesel sitting under the shed, run up and down these rural roads and haul the out of juice Voltswagons home or to a place to "fuel" up. I could do three at a time...volume business is the bee's knees.

I'll use the money to buy my own 'lectricmobile, chop the top off and use it to run fence

I'd have to paint it camo so I could hunt out of it too...the electric motor is less likely to startle game.

Wait...that won't work...everybody around here has a big 4x4 and equipment trailers...too much competition...dang it, I was going to get rich but fate has intervened once again.

But heat costs you in an electric car, in a gas powered car its a by-product,

I put another engine from Japan in my 88 Camry (from a newer Rav4 that still uses the 3SFE engine in Japan) two years ago. It still uses no oil between changes and is a quiet ride with no rattles.....

well, at least 53% of American voters ARE as stupid as this writer :(

Once just has to wonder where he’ll get the capitalist $41K (minus $7500) to buy a Volt. Dad? Mom? Granny?

Texas has had a dram shop law which makes it a crime to sell to a drunk and be responsible for damages caused by said drunk.

OK America needs electric cars—most of the time we don’t drive more than 40 miles a day. BUT WHATS WITH THE $40,000 price tag? We should be selling these for $11,000. That’s what they are worth. Why isn’t Obama giving us a good US Motors VW kind of are —a Smart Car for Americans at a good price. Well, that would take leadership—something in short supply these days. No wonder the Auto Industry is bankrupt. Soon we will be driving cars made in Mexico. Get your new 2012 Toro for just $60,000 dollars. Comes with its own fringe balls around the windows.

seems like there was a POTUS once upon a time that closed the gas stations on the week ends. That was a Pubbie I think. Obama motors make the On Star system which will soon be required on all Vehicles. It is already standard on ‘all Obama Mobiles. This will give his Minions power to decide when you can drive.

The earth is full of oil under high pressure.

These deep high pressure well feed lower pressure wells near the surface.

With direct injection, variable valve timing , etc., gasoline is the most efficient battery by far.

Our great, great , grandchildren will be visiting our graves in these highly efficient cars.

No one will be driving electric cars.

Actually the federal government could force everyone to buy a Chevy Volt.

If they can force us to buy insurance, they can force us to buy another commodity. Whether you can drive or not. They could force blind people to buy a chevy volt. It’s for their own good because it helps the US economy, keeps people employed and off unemployment.

Not a plug-in hybrid. An electric car with a gas-powered backup generator.

When queried just say "I move for a motion to dismiss in anticipation of subrosa subject matter jurisdictional discrepancy.

Our forefathers set it up so you can learn how to play law better than they do.

Carter, during the phony gas shortage. He set limits on when gas stations could be open.

Oil tankers sat low in the water just off our shores during that time.

Ask any old pilot or fisherman, they all saw them.
