I shutter to think what plans are in store for conservative sites when the current administration so quickly violates the free speech rights of 73,000 legitimate sites!
It will be a great day for America when the DMCA is found to be unconstitutional.
It is also scary because violations of DCMA could be used as a ruse to shut down almost any site apparently. Very strange the way this one went down.
Yeah, it's not a pretty picture. It makes me shudder.
As you probably already thought, a few of these bloggers are going to sue the government for the constitutionality of this under free speech. They can’t do this. And even if they do - don’t you know if we are blessed with a conservative president in 2012, he will reverse a lot of this bull crap that the high holy man has brought into play. What I don’t undertand is how all these powerful people are allowing this to happen

I think the ISPs and hosting companies are scaried to death of the current occupant in the White House. They are afraid of regulation and/or IRS investigations (remember how effectively Clinton used them during his reign of error).

We are in hard times, the states need money, so, just follow the $$$$$$. “Senator, I have some extra $$$ for a pet project, all you have to do is OK my program and I can assure you, you will have additional money for your state. Or how all these "powerful people" allowed John McCain, an aging, emotion dominated, incompetent speaker, to be the "conservative" opposing candidate to Barack Obama.
He tried to get the FEC to classify a parody web site as a PAC. When the FEC told Bush to go pound sand, Bush called a press conference.
At the press conference, he uttered, "There ought to be limits to freedom." What he meant, of course, is that he thought that there ought to be a way to control the freedom of speech.
It looks like Oh,Brother! is simply picking up where Duh!-bya left off.
That's why I like the idea of open primaries.
Republican voters get to vote for the worst Democrat candidate and Democrat voters get to vote for the worst Republican candidate.
So, instead of choosing between the lesser of two evils, as is done now, we will have to choose for voting for one of the two greater evils or choose to vote for a candidate from outside the two-party system.

Not just that, but any criminal law involving copyright enforcement. It is not right that our tax money is paying for the enforcement of intellectual property rights for private entities.
Your faith in the process is admirable, but regardless who gets in I don't think that there is empirical evidence with this crop of politicians we will get anything but the same crap we have already.
It is disturbing that they are doing this but more disturbing is the silence from US. There should be outrage in the streets over this.... infidelity to the constitution and ultimately TREASON to the constitution and the people of this country.

What is likely to have happened here is that the FBI seized the server as evidence for a copyright infringement violation. These blogs were hosted on this server and are therefore no longer available.
When you host your blog on a free site, you get what you pay for. If you were thinking ahead, you have kept a backup on your own system and now can go find a reputable host for your blog.
I would have to see a link for that one. I dont remember Bush saying that.
Liberals have a different playbook and it may well have been a PAC that bent the rules.
