The Hill is reporting: "Today I spoke with Alvin Greene, the presumptive Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate, and asked him to withdraw from the race, Carol Fowler, chairwoman of the South Carolina Democratic Party, said in a statement"

There go those Dems again, disenfranchising voters.
OMG. . . the fact they even asked him to resign is something. we shall see if he does.
good, it gives the pubbie an advantage.
LOL
He didn’t even campaign, and he got 59% of the vote. What does that say about his primary opponent?
porno pervs deserve a candidate, too!
This is illegal?
Not only a felony charge but the Army released him from service.
It’s not a felony charge, it’s a resume enhancer!!!!!
Aren’t the dems the ones always arguing for the restoration of rights for felons?
The SC Dems are RAAAACIST!
Alvin Greene , the surprise South Carolina Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, was kicked out of the Army last year and is facing a pending felony charge, according to court records obtained by ABC News.
worthy
Not much, considering his opponent in the Dim primary raised about $200,000 for the race, and campaigned across the state. Meanwhile, the presumptive Dim nominee got booted out of the Army last year; he’s facing felony charges and he lives at home with his parents. His campaign motto: “Putting SC Back to Work” (beginning, I assume, with him).
My first assignment in the Air Force 30 years ago was in South Carolina. Back in those days, it was the state GOP that had to scrounge for candidates (with the exception of Strom Thurmond). But I don’t think the GOP ever stooped to this level.
On the other hand, the Dim candidate does represent many of the constituencies his party is trying to reach; slackers (thanks for the hots-and-a-cot, mom); the unemployed, dishonorably discharged veterans (call it the Jessie McBeal bloc) and the incarcerated population (he’ll be there soon enough). It’s just a shame this guy isn’t gay and didn’t sneak across the southern border; otherwise, he’d hit the Democratic equivalent of a grand slam.
I hereby call on all FReepers to do whatever you can to keep this guy in the race. Send him some money (he didn’t spend anything in the primary, so he won’t need more than $50-75 for the general election).
I thought the Dems were the party of infinite empathy. Where's the empathy for this guy? Where's the compassion? Where's the tolerance? Where's the acceptance? Where's the understanding? Where's the social justice?
LOL.
He will fit right in with the rest of those crooks and thieves in Washington. As long as Alcee Hastings is in Congress why should this guy quit.
