It may seem to the world that Israel stands alone against a juggernaut of Muslim gangsters and will, in the end, cease to exist. If that happens, the Israelis will suffer a catastrophe reminiscent of the recent Hutu/Tutsi horror. The gangsters will, however, not be laughing for long as they will have lost the façade behind which they have hidden for decades. Their real war is against modernity, participatory government and the most basic women’s rights. That will become obvious.
All those who failed to support Israel, particularly American Jews that let their jejune contempt for George Bush, morph into votes and dollars for Obama, need not look very deeply at who is responsible. Pogo’s famous axiom, “We have met the enemy and he is us,” will suffice.
Anyone paying the remotest attention to his campaign should have concluded that Obama was at best indifferent to the survival of Israel and, at worst, rooting for its demise.
Back to the point: A look at the Czech Crisis of 1938 and its results might offer some insight. Adolph Hitler had already remilitarized the Rhineland, annexed Austria, and was rearming Germany. He had accomplished all by taking the measure of his adversaries and, finding them weak, had rolled the dice…and them.
Hitler had been demanding some 3 million Sudeten Germans become part of Greater Germany through the annexation of Czechoslovakia’s Sudetenland. As part of his “negotiation strategy” he moved several army divisions to the border and after months of faux talks, made his demand.
The French caved in immediately and Neville Chamberlain made two trips to Germany in an effort to avoid military action. He succeeded in averting war for one year while selling out the Czechs...

In another parallel, Hitler had some sympathy from world opinion because he’d trumped up “atrocities” against the Sudeten Germans. When Czech police showed up at Nazi headquarters, in Prague, I believe, to serve a search warrant for illegal weapons, one was shot in the head and the other escaped to bring the police in force. A gunfught ensued, and Hitler spun it as an attack on Germans. Gaza blockade, anyone?
I guess the assumption is Israel damages Iran's nuclear weapons development. Even then would it be a 10 year setback?
Exactly. Hitler also made up ridiculous claims of Polish atrocities against the local German population in the runup to the invasion of Poland in 1939.
That's more optimism than I can muster. I would have said that Obama is at best rooting for Israel's demise and most likely actively working toward its destruction.
I personally believe that O's idea for winning the war against radical Islam is to align us with radical Islam.

Like most leftists, he sees the jihadists as allies, not enemies. To a leftist, we're the enemy, not the imams. His dislike of Israel is visceral, and he feels the same about us.
My opinion.
Interesting how the last “meeting” Bibi had with Obama hauntingly reminded me very much of Hitler’s middle-of-the-night Berghof meeting with the Czech President, where he presented him with an ultimatum, told him the Army would invade if he didn’t “sign the papers,” and left the Czech President in the room alone while he went to confer with the generals.
