Is Sarah Palin trying to save California from itself?
TheCypressTimes.com ^ | 05/10/2010 | Stacy Drake

I think so…

After Governor Palin’s endorsement of Carly Fiorina last week and my subsequent reaction to Chuck DeVore’s reaction, I now totally understand her rational for making the decision she did. I don’t believe there was just one reason for coming to the conclusion she came to, but a possibility is that perhaps DeVore had expressed this sentiment to her:

“The Taliban and Al Qaeda do not present existential threat to the United States” –Chuck DeVore

I have spent a great deal of time going back and forth with DeVore supporters about the definition of the word “existential.” YES I know what existential means. Considering the root of the word is “exist” I don’t however, understand their point....

Stacy Drake is a Palinista. Amazing how Palin’s footsoldiers are racing to get in on damage control.

I can see, Drake is a Palin worshipper, she reacts in horror at the conservative backlash against Palin and her choice to endorse Fiorina; she thinks ‘MUST FIND A WAY TO DEFEND PALIN’, she scours the internet and paces the room, she can’t sleep at night thinking her icon could be going down, and then she reads a DeVore quip “Taliban blah blah not existential threat blah blah” and friggin Eurakoid! She’s done got it!

She proclaims in joyous euphoria DeVore is a member of Al-Quaida!... But No! she thinks...that would be too much too soon and what does that word ‘existential’ mean anyways she wonders, no matter all she needs is to write yadi yadi yah DeVore is a terrorist! DeVore is a terrorist! Neenie neener boo boo!

And Stacy thinks to thank the God of feminine hygiene that she Stacy Drake will single-handedly save the Reign of Palin for all eternity!!!!

Yippee! You go Girl!
Stacy! Ya dun us good!

It doesn't look like a "conservative backlash" against Palin to me ... LOL ...

Conservative Leaders For
CARLY FIORINA
U.S. Senate 2010

March 5, 2010

Fellow Conservatives:

This November, California will have an opportunity to call Barbara Boxer home and send a new conservative leader to the United States Senate. That new leader is Carly Fiorina. We are proud to endorse her as a fellow conservative who has real-¬‐world business experience and the guts and moxie to take on Barbara Boxer and win.

Carly is not a Washington insider. She is a proven business leader who understands the economy and advocates a strong national defense. And, she is a tough fiscal and social conservative who:

Democrats fear Carly more than any other candidate in the Republican primary. That’s why Barbara Boxer has been using Carly’s name in fundraising letters for nearly two years, while the California Democratic Party employs two full-time staffers to follow Carly around the state, and why numerous union-funded groups have launched independent expenditure efforts attacking her.

Carly Fiorina worked her way through undergraduate and graduate school, majoring in medieval history at Stanford University and earning two graduate business degrees from the University of Maryland and MIT. A self-made woman, Carly started her business career as a secretary and went on to become the first and, to date, the only woman to lead a Fortune 20 company, serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Hewlett-Packard Company. Most recently, Carly served on the Defense Business Board advising the U.S. Secretary of Defense on overall management of the department and as Director of Business Executives for National Security.

As conservative leaders in the United States Senate, we know you can count on the principled leadership of Carly Fiorina. We are confident that she will stand with us and stand up for you against the liberal special interests that have kept Barbara Boxer in Washington for almost 28 years.

This is a golden opportunity for the people of the Golden State to come together to elect Carly to represent them in the United States Senate. Please join us in supporting Carly’s campaign.

Sincerely,

TOM COBURN, M.D.
U.S. Senator (R-OK)

JAMES INHOFE
U.S. Senator (R-OK)

JON KYL
U.S. Senator (R-AZ)

And Senator James Inhofe (my Senator) is certainly not a RINO or someone who is engaging in "conservative backlash" against Palin ... LOL ... (it's just in your head and a few others' heads who are "anti-Palinistas" ... ).

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) Endorses Fiorina in CA Senate

Wednesday, November 18th at 9:02PM EST

After last month endorsing Marco Rubio, Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma endorsed Carly Fiorina to take down Barbara Boxer. Inhofe and Boxer both serve on the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, which Boxer chairs. Inhofe is the ranking member on that committee. She succeeded Inhofe as Chairperson of the committee when the Democrats took control of the Senate in 2007. They don’t appear to be the best of friends. Inhofe is one of the most conservative Senators, with a grade of 96/100, just behind Jim DeMint, and Jon Kyl, who also is supporting Fiorina. He ties with Mike Enzi, and Tom Coburn, who supports Fiorina, and is also from Oklahoma. Inhofe was also named “Outstanding Conservative Senator” recently.

“Carly Fiorina is a true fiscal conservative who has made controlling our federal deficit one of her top priorities. Her common-sense approach and sharp business skills make her exactly the kind of leader we need in the U.S. Senate to help address our ballooning deficit and get our nation’s economy back on track.”

- Jim Inhofe

You were saying ...

Obviously Devore doesn't know what he's talking about.

That's his problem, you see... he knows about the "pre-9/11 world" and that's where he's still stuck today ... doncha know...

That's why we don't need him in this new post-9/11 world, where we do see the Taliban and Al Qaeda active and an existential threat, just like President George Bush treated it.

DeVore wants to go back to his comfortable pre-9/11 world...

Thanks for your opinion.

But I'm more interested in facts. And the facts don't support your supposition.

You really like posting that paid-for endorsing letter on the Palin-fiorina threads don’t you? Yeah I have already seen it and it is clearly paid for.

There we have the stalwart Senator Inhofe praising her for this and that although he doesn’t know her, and likely his staff presented the letter to him from NRSC with a little blurb about Carly this and Carly that, and oh BTW Senator McConnell is asking would you be so kind to sign this one?

And voila! Carly done bought her some senatorial hubris!

Ain’t it grand?

PS - fiorina is a 1st class f*ckup and your support of her and Ms. Youbetcha is not helping. Nothing you can do now is going to make the conservatives that Palin dissed vote for fiorina. That’s a fact.

You were saying ...

But I'm more interested in facts. And the facts don't support your supposition.

Well, I eee that's the problem that certain types like DeVore have. Before 9/11 there were a lot of "supposition" about Al Qaeda and what could happen in the way of a major terrorist attack. I know as I followed it back then in the late 90s and all the way up to 9/11. And I'm seeing and hearing the same "pre-9/11 rhetoric" now ... once again ...

A lot of people back then dismissed things too ... until the "facts came in" -- those "facts" are now called "9/11" ...

Well, we don't need anyone waiting for those "facts" like 9/11 to arrive, before they will treat things like the Taliban and Al Qaeda as existential threats (as the Bush Administration had no problem doing and they did treat them as existential threats; unlike this Obama Administration and unlike Chuck DeVore).

Sorry, I'm going to go on what is the supposition from known experience that we've already had in the past ... and I'm not waiting for the "facts" of a nuked metropolitan area to "confirm the theory" ...

Chuck DeVore can stay out of the Senate with the attitude that the Taliban and Al Qaeda represent no existential threat to the United States. I don't want to have to be telling him the "facts" of a nuked city -- after it happens ...

Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund
Endorses Carly Fiorina for U.S. Senate in California

April 27, 2010

Dannenfelser: “We’ve been waiting for Carly Fiorina for a long time—in fact, since the day Barbara Boxer was elected to the U.S. Senate”

WASHINGTON – Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life political action committee, announced their endorsement of Carly Fiorina, candidate for U.S. Senate in California. Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund President Marjorie Dannenfelser commented on the endorsement:

"We’ve been waiting for Carly Fiorina for a long time—in fact, since the day Barbara Boxer was elected to the U.S. Senate. From a pro-woman, pro-life perspective, there could be no greater contrast. She embraces and advances the rights of women and unborn children, following in the footsteps of the earliest women in politics. Susan B. Anthony and the early feminists understood, as Carly Fiorina does, that undermining the rights of one never advances the rights of another.”

The California Republican primary election is June 8th where Carly Fiorina will face Chuck Devore and Tom Campbell. The winner will challenge 18 year incumbent Senator Barbara Boxer in the general election. Senator Boxer is one of the most aggressive champions of abortion rights and is endorsed by EMILY’s List.

Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund endorsements are promoted to the organization’s nationwide membership of over 280,000 Americans. The SBA List Candidate Fund endorses pro-life female candidates, as well as pro-life male candidates who run against female candidates in favor of abortion rights. During the 2008 election cycle, the Susan B. Anthony List bundled over $1 million in direct candidate contributions from its members.

The Susan B. Anthony List is a nationwide network of over 280,000 Americans, residing in all 50 states, dedicated to mobilizing, advancing, and representing pro-life women in politics. Its connected Candidate Fund increases the percentage of pro-life women in the political process.

I think CA is probably a lost cause.

Southern California has been a suburb of Mexico for many years. Financially it has and will continue to spend itself into a bailout from King Obama and he will rule California like a dictator. Why stop there, America has been converted to communism and will never convert back.

Straw horse.

See, unfortunately for the Fiorina types who are relying on spin & misdirection to gain support I actually watched the debate real time. I heard what Devore actually said and the context intended. You and others are NOT representing him honestly.

As I said yesterday, though Devore's my guy I thought Fiorina acquited herself well, also. But what her supporters are trying to do with this smear campaign is beneath contempt.

I hope everyone is taking note of who's participating in it.

Palin’s father has endorsed Danny Tarkanian. I think either Tarkanian or Lowden would be fine.

California gave Ronald Reagan to the world and elected George Murphy to the Senate 30 years ago. That was then, this is now.

I think Sarah Palin’s concern is the same as mine - that the worst possible candidate will win the GOP primary if conservatives split their votes (as they did in Indiana last week).

“existential threat” is a widely used FP term that means an external, global threat such as nuclear weapons. For example, AQ is not an existential threat but the USSR was.
