Concerned about illegal immigration? Carly thinks you`re racist. Chuck thinks you`re right

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- DeVore for California today responded to Carly Fiorina's denunciation of Republicans concerned about immigration as having a "racist tone." In an interview conducted by Politico's David Catanese and Josh Kraushaar (at http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0510/36629.html), Fiorina responded to an explicit question about whether "Republicans needed to make any changes in their approach to the growing Hispanic community" with this statement: "There has been a very unfortunate racist tone that has emerged in a lot of the discussion about immigration and that's inexcusable. We must be a country that welcomes legal immigrants to this country."

Chuck DeVore said, "It looks like Carly Fiorina believes her own fellow Republicans have a 'racist tone' on immigration -- or at least that's what she tells her friends in the D.C. press. I know better.

"Unlike Carly, I know and respect my fellow Republicans.

"Unlike Carly, I've been an active Republican and conservative all my life.

"Unlike Carly, I've lived in southern California for decades.

"Unlike Carly, I've led Hispanic American soldiers -- and been led by them.

"Unlike Carly, I've studied the border problem from the standpoint of a senior California National Guardsman.

"Unlike Carly, I've engaged the illegal-immigration problem as a lawmaker, a father and homeowner in affected communities.

"Most of all unlike Carly, I genuinely respect and understand Californians' concern about this pressing issue. The illegal-immigration problem has everything to do with safe communities, respect for the law, and taxpayer resources -- issues that cut across every divide of race, class, and politics.

"In Carly Fiorina's imagination, Republicans are racists who don't even welcome legal immigrants. That's an outright falsehood. Her interviewers didn't bring up racism -- she did. Her interviewers didn't conflate legal and illegal immigration -- she did. If we ever needed an illustration of just how deeply and reflexively Carly Fiorina has bought in to the left-wing and media narrative, this is it.

"On the one hand, I'm appalled at her slander of hardworking Americans who demand respect for the law. On the other hand, those same Americans will go to the polls on June 8th."

Joshua Treviño, DeVore for California communications director, said, "If Carly Fiorina's right, and Republicans have a 'racist tone' toward Hispanics, I've made a terrible career error."

Californians may well elect Afffirmative Action Fiorina. If they do, they will have confirmed that, on the whole, Californians are too stupid to be part of the US.

I’m waiting for the next round of polling in the race. Campbell getting in has really screwed the hell out of things and we can thank the NRSC.

Finally, a politican who actually has a pair, and a backbone to boot. Wonder if he’d be interested in the President’s job in 2012. I’ve yet to hear any ‘Republican’ who has laid it out so clearly.

So, what exactly is a "racist tone"?

I sat down at the piano and I couldn't find it...unless Carly is talking about the "black keys". But they sounded ok to me too.

She must have one of those "racist detectors"...like the one being modeled here...

They will. Because just like Arh-nold, the vote celebrity over substance. It’s part of their culture.

Liberals love to cherry-pick around the world until they find a law that supports whatever nutty thing they want to do.

But we never see any big media interest in how the Germans, French, Russians, Chinese, Chileans, etc, handle their border problems. I’ll bet all other countries haves strict, sensible rules. And so should we!

The election in CA is shaping up for another GOP disaster.
The three GOP candidates for Gov are all Rino to Rino light.
None of them will solve the problems, just prolong the agony. Basically, they all think that the budget problems will go away when the economy improves, but it won’t. We simply have too many ways to give too much money away to too many undeserving people. Legals and illegals. The business model is broken. Without radical elimination of illegals from the cost problem..there is no solution.

We are products of our history and Carly Fiorina will nose-dive and destroy California into the ground just as she has to corporations in her past.

Agreed. Frankly, I'd rather have the inevitable collapse of California happen under a Democrat governor (and Republican congress or President). It's like a game of hot potato, and I don't want my party to be holding it when it explodes.

For all the open borders nuts who want no-holds-barred immigration. Here is a look at what unrestricted immigration looked like a century ago. At that time there were no immigration limits or quotas, as a result the cities were teeming slums.

Just today, I heard an open borders idiot make the point that at one time there were no quotas. Well here is something to rub his nose in what limitless immigration actually does to society. Here is some investigative journalism from the late eighteen hundreds. “How the Other Half Lives” was a very powerful piece of journalism that looked at the terrible conditions in New York City at the time. Just think what America would be like today if there had not be some immigration restraints put into law in the nineteen twenties. What would be our population today if immigration kept up at the same pace as the late eighteen hundreds? Can you even imagine what large cities like New York or Chicago would be like today? What about our standard of living? What if our incomes were constantly being undercut by a constant wave of cheap labor?

Whenever someone calls quotas “racist” refer them to “How the Other Half Lives”.

What concerns me most about Carly?

She seems to have no identifiable core beliefs. She seems to have packaged herself like a product.
