George Will Slaps Down Bill Maher on 'This Week'
http://www.associatedcontent.com ^ | May 03, 2010 | By Mark Whittington

Bill Maher is a snarky fellow who has a half "comedy" half public affairs show on HBO in which he gets laughs by saying stupid, offensive stuff. "Republicans are racists." "Sarah Palin is a ding bat." "Barack Obama is a calm black man." But when he appeared on "This Week" Maher found out what happens when one says stupid stuff in front of George Will. For information purposes, Will is correct that Brazil is a heavy oil producer and consumer and Bill Maher, as usual, is full of--er--stuff. And somewhere David Brinkley is rolling his eyes and saying, "And I though Bill Clinton was a bore!"

No wonder things are going downhill so fast when Maher actually is considered a serious source for news and information on a show like that. If he is to be on at least make it fair by putting him up against one of our young insurgents like Jason Mattera or Steven Crowder.

“What is Maher even doing on ‘This Week’?

Ditto. I was appalled at the one sidedness. That left wing shrew from The Nation, Sharpton, Maher, a semi conservative milquetoast and George Will. I thought Jake Tapper was one of the few decent journalists left. What the hell was he thinking? It was a travesty and another hit job by state run media!

I heard today on Dennis Prager that Brazil uses 2.3 million gallons/barrels of oil A DAY.

Yeah, Will’s old school & doesn’t know how to handle someone who outright lies with a straight face.

Thanks, Oaf. Keep up the good work.

Wasn’t it Feinstein who said oaf of office?

Since I know very little about Brazil and its oil output was Will correct?

If George Will said it, it's a safe bet.

Here is what I am coming up with.

Year Barrels
2003 2,199,000
2004 2,199,000
2005 2,199,000
2006 1,610,000 26.78 drop
2007 2,100,000
2008 2,372,000
2009 2,372,000
2010 2,520,000

2006 may have been what Mahr was referencing but if the source data I have is correct, consumption rose every year after that.

Rank by country in oil consumption(bbl/day)
1 United States 20,800,000
2 China 6,930,000
3 Japan 5,353,000
4 Russia 2,916,000
5 Germany 2,618,000
6 India 2,438,000
7 Canada 2,290,000
8 Korea, South 2,130,000
9 Brazil 2,100,000
10 Mexico 2,078,000
11 Saudi Arabia 2,000,000

Brazil is in the top ten. The information is as of January 1, 2009

I don't give Maher that much credit. He probably heard about the 2006 decline in Brazil oil consumption and has been citing the same incorrect information at dinner parties every since. He was not telling a lie, he believed it and is wrong. Big difference.

Maher is a chickenshit liberal twit. His idea of fairness is a group of five or six loony liberals with one consevative. What a fraud. I’d like to see this asshole with Ted Nugent, Tom Sowell, and Andrew Breitbart. God, what a bloodbath that’d be.

Bill Maher is one of the ugliest people I have ever seen...........He is a liar and a creep, and he at one time was a conservative..and he isn’t funny, nobody watches his shows but his mother...

Maher couldn’t get into the Playboy Mansion, so he ‘switched’..........As Raquel Welch once said...about a CBS Executive.....”He couldn’t get laid with an American Express card stuck to his head”..................That is Bill Maher...........

I was referring to his assertion that conservatives and tea party attendants are racist. The rodent Maher knows that such a sweeping generalization is simply a malicious lie about people with whom he differs ideologically.

Someone repeated it when Obama took the oath twice but I can’t remember who it was. You think Feinstein?

On that you will get no disagreement from me. Mahar is a cheap shot artist. Sorry I misunderstood your original comment. Take mine as adding to the conversation.

A search turned up a lot of liberal articles blaming it on John Roberts but I distinctly remember it this way:

Corner Booth: Oaf of Office | A News Cafe dot com
Jan 20, 2009 ... Dianne Feinstein introduced Chief justice John Roberts and said he would administer the “oaf of office.” Cold lips, Senator? ...

Well, if it makes fun of Feinstein I like it even more. She has used her position to not only destroy California but to fill her pockets. I despise her.
