Had this been an incident involving Obama's favorite target of blame, George W. Bush, it would have been widely covered in the mainstream media. Instead, it's been largely ignored.

The president loses his cool at 2:00 and at 6:00 of the tape. Especially intriguing is Obama's challenge to one activist to come up on stage, sounding very much like a "you want to step outside?" threat. Also interesting is the fact that he turned to Please-call-me-Senator Boxer and confirmed that she originally voted against the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy before assuring the crowd that she would surely vote to repeal it. Way to be knowledgeable.

He can say “would you like to step up on stage” because SS won’t let that happen. What if the heckler had agreed, and headed for the steps?
That would not hve been the correct way for the heckler to respond. He could have said: “I would like very much to come down on stage and debate this issue with you Mr. President? Are you serious about your invitation? If so...I will be more than happy to do so and happy to be escorted down by your Secret Service Agents.
