Stupak could be playing for time — stall ball, in effect. He hates the Senate bill, but is being primaried from the Left. If he can delay, delay and delay through conversation with Hoyer until March 27, he knows that the House — when it reconvenes in mid-April, will have no appetite for Bocare.

He can be bought. I’ve always been of the opinion he was a bit of a fraud. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t find a way to get this through.

Stupak probably gave somebody a wedgy in highschool, and Rahm will make him pay for straying off the Democrat reservation.

I think the date is earlier than April, and earlier than March 27. 0bama leaves for on a trip to bow before foreign despots and otherwise continue his international buffoonery. He leaves March 18, which is why he gave Congress his Imperial Ultimatum. That’s only about a week away.

I’ve been debating whether the GOP needs to run a full-court press on the vote. They know that as of today, 216 yes votes aren’t there. So why not call out the dems and demand a vote earlier, and ask that it be voted down now? Today? That way they can flush out the democrat leadership and watch them go into overdrive with their bribes, and the people will go berserk.

If he goes, is it automatic the rest of his crew will vote yes? Maybe that’s a rhetorical question.

If the House changes the abortion wording in the Senate Bill does that mean it has to go back to the Senate? I thought the House could not make any changes to the Senate Bill, if they did had to go back the Senate for another vote?

As a Christian, I would like to let Mr. Stupak know that if he has the courage to stand up for the unborn and the elderly, we will stand up for him when he needs contributions and votes. Otherwise, never again.

If they change the Senate bill, the Senate must vote again. What they are trying to get him to do is agree to support the current bill in return for a promise to “fix it” later that will never see the light of day.

And Stupak will buy into the con and tell his constituents down the road, in his best Louis Renault voice, “I’m shocked. Shocked to discover the bill wouldn’t be fixed!”

Since the leaderships whole idea is a MUCH more radicalized version of the bill -single payer, abortions etc., it’s hard to believe they could take their word on making good on the apparent “fixes”. I think there’s some serious ‘Stimulus’ money being promised.

The minority party in the House cannot call for a vote on anything, except under a special discharge petition, which is rare.

Every day that goes by that Pelosi doesn’t schedule a vote means she doesn’t have the votes.

She won’t schedule a vote that she would lose and thereby subject her members to greater vulnerability.

The March 18 thing is delusion-speak from BO at the White House. Hoyer already tossed away that date earlier today.
