Obama: "China May Support Tough Sanctions on Iran . . . If China is Exempted"

In a world gone crazy, it is always nice to see that the crack team running US foreign policy can still provide a needed laugh. The newest knee-slapper, as reported by the august Washington Post, is that Obama Administration is trying to secure Chinese support for toothless sanctions against Iran, by exempting China from said sanctions.

China has resisted all efforts for a fourth useless round of sanctions against the Iranians. Not happy with just offering bribes to the Iranians, now we are to bribe the Chinese to help us. Obama's plan to get China on board is worse than useless. The way it would work is simple. As explained in the Washington Post, "[t]he administration's plan in effect would label China as a country cooperating in the U.S.-led drive to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and appears to be part of a broader strategy to prod Beijing to vote for a new sanctions resolution."

China is laughing at a plan that would thus allow Chinese companies to continue helping Iran acquire nukes, without any consequences. Doesn’t our Secretary of State always prattle on about “consequences?”

American allies in the region who have actually helped efforts to forestall nuclear proliferation are aghast. South Korea, which faces their own madman with a bomb, is livid. Japan, the only nation to have suffered a nuclear attack sees our weakness. Perhaps they should consider distancing themselves from America and work closer with China?

Here is a better idea for America. Offer Taiwan the technology to build their own small and defensive nuclear arsenal and delivery systems. Heck, give the Tibetan exile community one while we are at it. My plan, though clearly crazy, is more in line with reality than a plan to falsely recognizes China . . .

“Russia also wants an exception... So it can sell S-300 missiles to Iran.”

Heck, why not exempt North Korea and ask them to build a nuke for Iran?

I forgot to also say...

Recognize Chechnya as an independent state and build a robust NMD system in Poland, with 35,000 US troops.

Oh wait, none of that will happen. 0 is present.
