Let’s be perfectly candid here. America said he was “smart” because he was a black guy who didn’t sound like Al Sharpton.

In its obsession to deal with its racial issues, America is always very, very eager to give minorities not just the benefit of the doubt, but, a huge boost. If Obama had been white, no none would have noticed.

Sorry to be so blunt, but, that’s the truth.

Not just that, but liberals it gives you racism immunity to express the opinion that a black guy is really, really smart.

It definitely helped in the Democrat Primary. But McCain would have lost to whomever the Dems nominated. IMHO

I think you’re right. And I think, sadly, that his election, will ultimately be a blow to black Americans because he will be seen as a failure or worse. The bad thing is there ARE black Americans who I think could be effective Presidents. Sowell, Williams to name but two.
