No nation, however large or small, wealthy or poor, can escape the impact of climate change. Rising sea levels threaten every coastline, Said President Obama at the G20 summit in Pittsburgh last year.
The President forgot to mention that ever since the last ice-age 10,000 years ago, sea levels have been rising. So unless the Neanderthals imitating Al Gore and flying private jets and driving gas guzzlers, rising sea levels are not caused by global warming but by natural phenomena.
Last year two scientists published a paper which said the ocean rise was accelerating and unless we did something about global warming the sea levels would rise by up to 82cm (32 1/3 inches) by the end of century. But "OOPS they were were wrong, the report's author now says true estimate is still unknown so the report was withdrawn.

The damage that the global warming fiasco has done to scientific credibility is going to take a very long time to repair.
And this is not a good thing.
The wolf-criers have virtually assured that any serious warnings regarding issues of genuine concern are going to be taken much less seriously now.
Heck, most people would be skeptical if a scientist said the sky was blue.

New Paper in Science: Sea level 81,000 years ago was 1 meter higher while CO2 was lower
algore huffing air biscuits??? A real piece o’ work Seadog. Thanks for the ping!
Thanks for the ping!
What is DOES do is create suspicion among folks whose science education was woefully inadequate, and who need to rely on the veracity of the scientists, when they're making public statements. If they find the scientists are hoodwinking them, or pushing a political agenda, they'll just stop believing ALL scientists, even when those scientists DO have data to support their contentions.
It is not a good thing for the future of the country, where many important decisions rely on some knowledge of science, or at least a trust of science, for the average voter to NOT be able to believe in science or by extension, scientists.
I didn’t see your comments before I posted, but GMTA. ;o)
You betcha! ;-)
Yes Ma’am.
Oooops is right.
Perhaps somebody just waved this article under their noses --- from 2007.
Sea Level Expert : It's Not Rising
This interview is devastating in its thoroughness and level of scientific competence. Long but educational. It's so refreshing to see REAL scientists at work... the disdain for unethical and childish "scientists" doing Global Warming scaremongering should embarrass quite a few people.
so much for "science being settled."
