Debra Medina states:
"I have never been involved with the 9-11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11. I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way. No one can deny that the events on 9-11 were a tragedy for all Americans and especially those families who lost loved ones."

Perry ain’t scared of Medina anymore. She just put him over 50%.
I see Medina is falling back on lying.
That is her strong suit after all.
If this is what she believes, then why not say so in the first place? She is Texas toast.
She originally did not want to offend a large group of her supporters, who knew that she believed that already. So, now that she sees that she's going to lose support -- bigtime -- she now crafts a statement to try and not offend her big group of 9/11 Truthers who support her...
I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way.
BUT, I'm looking for that evidence and it will show that they knew about it and did nothing [because it was an excellent "opportunity" doncha know...]. And when I find it, then I'll tell you I have believed that our government was at fault from the beginning!
She waffled on the Beck show and it is all over the net. If this is what she believed she needed to say that then.
I’d like to see all of the gubenertorial candidates go on Glenn Beck and tell whether or not they believe man is responsible for global warming and whether we should enact policies to “save the climate”.
That goes for Rick, Kay, Debra, and Bill White. Farouk is not even in the running and the other Democrats are in a total media blackout.
Her answer would have been somewhat reasonable if the question was “what do you think about those who believe the govenrment knew about 9/11”. But the question was “do you believe”, and if you can’t give your own belief in response to a “do you believe” question, you aren’t going to win many elections.
It took 42 seconds for this woman to burn her ENTIRE campaign to the ground and return to single digit polling numbers.
42 SECONDS!!!
It blows me away!!
After that call, Rick Perry sits back and puts his feet on his desk, and lights a cigarette.
Better than sex, I tell ya.
I wish she had just said, Of course I dont believe in that stuff. Lets talk about real issues.
Well, she couldn't say that initially, because she knew that large group of 9/11 Truthers that do support her, already knew her stance on the issue... :-)
A political career dies, but the secession movement lives:

And they ran over her on the way out.
You are exactly right. I would like to see Beck ask the same "Truther" question to Rand Paul. At this point in time I'm supporting Bill Johnson for US Senate
She will now be guesting on the Fox show “Fringe”.
Well, with yours and hers , let's see ........... that makes two.
I don’t want Patrick as a US Senator. I want Michael Williams.
The difficulty is that we mostly elect people on image and how smoothly they talk. As I found in my college/graduate school career, the most “articulate” people are often not the smartest, wisest, or, especially, the most honest, and many people who are incredibly capable and decent do not give “Oprah” quality chit chat.
This will probably prove to be Medina’s “Katy Couric interview”. Pity. Now we are back to the hacks who will betray us the minute the election results are in. Just wait until Perry, White, or KBH has to deal with the projected $17 billion shortfall in the next biennium.
Medina would have probably insisted on something unsophisticated like cutting spending, but the person who gets elected will give us mostly accounting tricks and fees. That’s how “experienced” politicians handle things for the taxeaters that they really work for, and we will have lots of posts here complaining about it when it happens, even though it is entirely predictable.
Medina statement after hemming and hawing on Beck. The lady isn't ready for Texas Prime Time.
It’s a conundrum and one I don’t know an answer to. Add to that that a lot of good people wouldn’t dream of a political career because they don’t want to go thru it, and we are stuck with what we have. Which sucks.
"...President Muffley: General Turgidson! When you instituted the human reliability tests, you assured me there was no possibility of such a thing ever occurring!
Turgidson: Well, I, uh, don't think it's quite fair to condemn a whole program because of a single slip-up, sir.
President Muffley: General Turgidson, I find this very difficult to understand. I was under the impression that I was the only one in authority to order the use of nuclear weapons.
Turgidson: That's right sir. You are the only person authorized to do so. And although I hate to judge before all the facts are in, it's beginning to look like General Ripper exceeded his authority...."
