Anti-abortion group targets black women with billboards

An anti-abortion group targeting African-American women has begun putting up dozens of billboards around metro Atlanta, declaring black children to be “an endangered species.”

This is what they look like:

Ryan Bomberger, co-founder of the Radiance Foundation, said 35 should be up by Feb. 15. “We’re aiming for a lot more, but that’s where we’re at,” Bomberger said.

The billboards were announced at a state Capitol news conference at which another group, Georgia Right to Life, announced that it would back legislation this session that would make it a crime to “solicit a woman to have an abortion based on the race or sex of the unborn child.”

The two groups are citing what they say are federal statistics that indicate 56 percent of abortions in Georgia are performed on African-American women, though blacks make up 30 percent of the general population.

With billboards? That must hurt.

“The two groups are citing what they say are federal statistics that indicate 56 percent of abortions in Georgia are performed on African-American women, though blacks make up 30 percent of the general population.”

So of course, it must be White racism that is forcing them to murder their kids out of proportion to their numbers.

Just like the crime rate...graduation rate...pregnancy rate. When will we stop victimizing these people? Just think of all the money we could save, and how productive we could all be, if we just stopped dedicating our lives to keeping them down through cumbersome comical/diabolical schemes.

They are comparing apples and oranges with this statement.
Are the pregnancy rates the same with both groups?

According to a recent MMWR article, black and hispanic teens get pregnant at about the same rate, which is over twice the rate of white teens. The abortion rate among black teens, however, is almost twice that of hispanic teens.

An ad using the image and quote below would probably turn heads and get folks to stop and think.

"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."

Very educational. Especially the mentions of 14 out of 14 PP clinics being in black neighborhoods and PP reporting an $80mil profit last year.

Also a great primer on the less-hysterical pro-abort debating points.

This is definitely the way to do it. Getting out in front and making reasonable, albeit provocative arguments in the public eye. Forcing the abortion lobby to come out and defend themselves in public.

If black women are aborting their children at a higher rate in Georgia it sure isn’t in South Georgia. Down here it is a source of pride to see how many babies they can have with different daddies and vice versa. Birth control is given out for free at the health department so don’t give me that crap about they just need better access to birth control. Learn how to cross your legs and have a little self-control. Anyone can go to vocational college on the Hope Scholarship in Georgia so it is not like educational opportunities don’t exist. Get an education and dig yourself out of the hole. Course that might require too much effort.
