There has been a lot of debate on the subject today, but I have not heard a reasonable argument for it yet. Someone educate me....

Because she might want to run for president in 2012. It's simple math: Campaigning for McCain will lose her very few conservative voters (a few hardcore Hayworthistas), not campaigning for McCain might appear self-serving and ageist and will lose her a lot of older, middle class independent value voters who reward loyalty. Voters she will need in a general election.

Conservatives really like Palin. I like Palin. But I personally am not 100% sure what she would do as President. If she runs, she’ll have to take positions on a whole bunch of issues, and if she takes too many positions I don’t like, she could lose me.

Some have called Palin’s support of McCain a deal breaker for them. I don’t see it that way at all, but it isn’t something I think positively about. She does stuff like that over and over, and she’ll lose people.

I would like to see McCain lose in the Republican Primary to someone more conservative. Not only is McCain a RINO, he’s influential. Someone who’s equally a RINO, but less influential, would be an improvement.
