Why is Governor Palin campaigning for McCain?
EEE | 20 JANUARY 2010 | EEE

Someone help me out here. Governor Palin, when she stepped down, said she would campaign on behalf of those who shared her common-sense conservative vision for America, regardless of political party.
So why is she campaigning on behalf of someone who is in their mid-70s, who has been in the Senate since the early 1980s, and who is arguably the most infamous turncoat Republican in the party's history?
I appreciate McCain's military service. I thank him for choosing Palin and putting her on the map, though she was already a popular figure and would have made it on her own regardless if she would have been chosen for VP or not. I admire, but dislike, McCain's anachronistic notion of those in government are supposed to quietly serve and at the end of the day be pals with one another. We voted for McCain because of Palin. But again, McCain is the most feckless, turncoat Republican I've ever seen.
Sarah's endorsement of McCain and subsequent campaigning for him simply doesn't make any sense. Ditto for Perry, who has been Governor already for 10 years. Why does he need to serve another term? For what? Does Palin realize that Republican incumbents are also targeted by the Tea Partiers too?
If Palin would have campaigned for McCain after he won the primary, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I'm sure McCain would still be better than the Dem running against him. But during the primary? Did Hayworth declare at all? Was he thinking of running and now will back out because of Palin's decision?
I will still support Palin but this is very, very discouraging.

Loyalty. She won't through the man who made her a national figure under the bus.

Paul, I don't buy the loyalty argument.
I don't see where Palin owes Mr. McCain anything. She owes him for saving him from a crushing landslide defeat had she not been chosen?
Palin is her own woman now. After the election, she should have politely thanked McCain (again), announced she was going to forge her own path, and completely severed all ties.

Her campaigning for McCain completely blows a hole in her theme. She has a wonderful, winning message of common-sense conservatism that Republican candidates are now starting to pick up. How does that square with her support for a statist like McCain, and possibly his surrogates Graham, Crist, and Kirk?

Sorry, I just don’t see it that way.

McCain is responsible for the actions of his aides.

And frankly, defining much of what he has done as “poor judgement” is overly generous.

McCain is bad as a Senator, he needs to be replaced.

You are judged by the company you keep. Something Sarah should carefully consider.

I'm a newbie at the Facebook thing, but I created a fan page to ask this same question. Please follow this link and become a fan. If enough people do so, maybe we'll get Sarah's attention. Send this link to friends!

I think that Chris Simcox is running. I’m not sure if Hayworth has announced yet.

Chris is the grassroots, border-security activist who formed the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC).

Because she has morals - she liked Mccain as a person, repects his war record, his selection of her as VP candidate - and is sticking by the bond formed.

I don’t like Mccain at all, but on balance I can easily live with this decision as I would like Palin less if she was ungrateful and disloyal. As important as postions and policies are, I respect character too.

She believes McCain is an honorable man. She ran with him. She went all over the country singing his praises. Did you think she didn’t believe what she was saying?

This is not a game changer. This is Sarah exhibiting some consistency.

A question to those with concerns (valid concerns) about Palin’s support of McCain?

Did you support Brown? He is a liberal republican, maybe even an independent.

Why? Special circumstances.

Same here.

Maybe, just maybe, Sarah knows John McCain a little better than any of us on a forum. Sure, we don’t agree with some of what he has said or done, but, I’ll be darned if I’m going to throw her under the bus for being loyal. Personally, I like that in a person. Some on here are way too purist. I sincerely doubt Scott Brown would’ve won if he hadn’t wooed the independent and Reagan Democrats.

Sarah is a true conservative, through and through. Maybe Hayworth isn’t even going to run. He hasn’t declared and I know nothing about him anyway. I certainly don’t agree with McCain on a lot of issues, but he has stayed the party line since he lost the election.

Give Sarah a break. Some are willing to throw her under the bus just because she doesn’t toe your line. Its like either your way or the highway.

MacLame’s campaign moves fast...

I got two robo-calls from the recently elected Senator Brown asking for my support for MacLame.

With this and the rash of radio ads here in AZ, McLame must have poor internal polling results....:^)

I received a recorded call from Scott Brown today thanking me for supporting John McCain who supported him during his Senate campaign and basically asked that I would continue to support McCain in his bid for re-election to the U.S. Senate. I am so very grateful for Senator Brown’s victory in MA, but I cannot in good conscience support the RINO John McCain. Go JD Hayworth!!!

So McJuan would like to dive bomb conservatives in the R party to oblivion? There are people working 24-7 to to this especially since Tea Parties got up and running. Maybe a third party is the answer.

If Hayworth is knocked out of the running, AZ and the rest of the country will have to live with McNasty from now on---and after he's gone, why his darling dotter, of course!

We can defeat McCain with conservative JD Hayworth.
Hayworth, however, must pay off his legal fees before a January 31 deadline in order for him to enter the Senate race. The DOJ dropped the investigation of Hayworth in the Abramoff scandal once they determined Hayworth had nothing to do with the scandal.

Please help Hayworth pay off these legal fees as he is our only shot at knocking off RINO McClame.
