Someone help me out here. Governor Palin, when she stepped down, said she would campaign on behalf of those who shared her common-sense conservative vision for America, regardless of political party.
So why is she campaigning on behalf of someone who is in their mid-70s, who has been in the Senate since the early 1980s, and who is arguably the most infamous turncoat Republican in the party's history?
I appreciate McCain's military service. I thank him for choosing Palin and putting her on the map, though she was already a popular figure and would have made it on her own regardless if she would have been chosen for VP or not. I admire, but dislike, McCain's anachronistic notion of those in government are supposed to quietly serve and at the end of the day be pals with one another. We voted for McCain because of Palin. But again, McCain is the most feckless, turncoat Republican I've ever seen.
Sarah's endorsement of McCain and subsequent campaigning for him simply doesn't make any sense. Ditto for Perry, who has been Governor already for 10 years. Why does he need to serve another term? For what? Does Palin realize that Republican incumbents are also targeted by the Tea Partiers too?
If Palin would have campaigned for McCain after he won the primary, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I'm sure McCain would still be better than the Dem running against him. But during the primary? Did Hayworth declare at all? Was he thinking of running and now will back out because of Palin's decision?
I will still support Palin but this is very, very discouraging.
I am really... really.... really tired of all the overwrought handwringing, kneejerk reactions of so many on this site. In fact, it pisses me off to no end. People aren’t looking for a leader, they are looking for a puppet that will dance when the strings are pulled. And don’t give me this frickin’ RINO bullsh!t! I swear, there is a movement afoot here by some to harm the Republican Party in order to mount a third party challenge.
Debt of Honor
To piss off Steve Schmidt. Why else? LOL
Other than to show McCain appreciation of what he did for her.. golly, why is it that honest repayment of a real debt is questioned any more. Seriously, I don’t care for McCain politically. That being said, he did Sarah a great good with his nominating her, and that’s a real debt to be repaid. It smacks of integrity, personal integrity, and that’s why I like it.
Where does it say that she must support one or the other? Geez, I have money automatically sent to SarahPAC each month based on what she said in public and in her PAC for who she is going to support. She coined the phrase Commonosense Conservative and for a while now she has done wonderful things like Hoffman in the NY 23rd. So now she is giving money to McCain and now I hear Graham. Do I consider that money well spent? NO!
When conservatism needed the support to stand up to the Democrats, those two folded like a cheap suit and gleefully poked us in the eye time and again. What was even more maddening was their arrogant attitude when interviewed by the media who then again took their words and used it against conservatives.
She wanted to use Obama’s words, associations and record against him during the campaign but John refused to do so.
Barack Obama is a decent man, you have no reason to be fearful of an Obama Presidency.
Gang of 14
Comprehensive Immigration Reform (Amnesty)
McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform
Is supportive of legislation calling Climate change man-made
TARP
Against the ban on same sex marriages
So where are these stances anywhee in the deffinition, her definition, of Commonsense Conservatism as she wrote in her book and has reiterated in the media, Facebook and other interviews?
Nothing says she has to support Simcox if she doesn’t support McCain. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t anywhere near need anyone’s help in dispatching him. On the other hand, you have JD Hayworth who put his principles on the line for con servatism, especially on Illegal immigration so being loyal to McCain could have more easily been accomplished by not entering into support for anyone in the race. She doesn’t diss him but then again she lets everyone know how she feels for his lack of honor for his not supporting her when she was being pilloried.
I will let this go for a little while before making a decision on pulling my support for SarahPAC, most likely until after the Tea Party Convention the first weekend in February where I’m sure she will get an earfull.
What on earth does his age have to do with anything?
Thank you. At best, it is incredibly immature.
Unfortunately, in this case her sense of loyalty (we assume that as the reason) is helping to re elect a very bad legislator.
This may be a singular chance in modern history to make conservatism the leading force in the Republican Party. Helping people like McCain (notice I omit any of the numerous critical and well deserved adjectives) is in direct opposition to that.
This country is on a knife’s edge, we are literally teetering on economic collapse and destruction of the Republic. Helping a man that has been a negative factor is not justified.
I will not make a list of the things he has done, how he has hurt us. There is no positive in keeping him in office. In this case, loyalty to the Republic (and ALL of us) is more important.
She can and will do what she chooses. But decisions have consequences in life.
grow up for asking a questions, get real will you.
The question is why would she do that and all it took for you was to say she feels she owes him back or words to that effect . Instead you decided to act immature and say grow up and being petty.
thanks for the answer Sarah.
I’m a big fan of her and just wanted to ask that and you gave me answer.
I suppose she feels that she owes him but I do want Hayworth to win if he does decide to run over McCain, .
His family now are on the rally for homosexuals and if I were him I would be saying will you stop but it seems spoilt girl has the run of the house
Here’s Allah Pundit’s take.
Its obvious what he (McCain) gets out of this. What does she (Palin) get out of it? Two things, I think: (a) The moral high ground, rushing to his aid after Steve Schmidt et al. have spent months tearing her down, and (b) an inroad into the media narrative that shes itching to lead some sort of wingnut apocalypse or whatever thatll devour all moderate Republicans in its path. Truth be told, if she was inclined that way, thered be no bolder statement she could make than by taking on her former running mate, particularly by backing some sort of independent tea-party candidate. Instead shes being a good soldier, just like she was a good soldier in staying out of the Massachusetts race until it was over, when she called to congratulate Brown. Take this as further proof that she meant what she said to Rush (and to Beck) about working within the party, not outside of it even if it is a bit odd that Maverick somehow doesnt qualify as one of those Republicans whod best be replaced by a more conservative party member.
If I were a tin foil conspiracy guy, then I would say the Fox News gig and numerous speaking engagements are a paid off to Palin to not challenge the RNC.
I figure it this way, if she had become Vice President, she would have served 4 years in his Administration, propped his ideas, advocated for him, so really, what’s the difference. He is the same liberal nut then, and he’s the same liberal nut now. I am just fearful that McCain will suck her back in, McCain is toxic, his ideas are toxic, I dont believe he is a progressive, that idea is crazy, he is pro life and for a strong national defense, but he is a big time liberal and that will NEVER change..I don’t want Sarah sucked back in because he will taint her. I don’t mind her campaigning for him, I saw that one coming a longggggggggg time ago, but if she stays with him long enough, the liberals wont have to worry about politically destroying her, McCain will do all the work for them, which is what I fear
agreed
