"It's time to fire them all. "

Get a grip. I'm sick of this nonsense. There are some people in Congress who've been standing up for our country and for us, and half of FR is ready to kick them to the curb because "fire them all" is a snappy slogan and investing the thought necessary to distinguish between the innocent and the guilty might get in the way of their self-indulgent, therapeutic raging.

Actually, I "have a grip". You missed the entire point of the exercise. Every single, current member of Congress including the noobs from the last election have either caved in or tried to wangle things for their districts.

This isn't about how well you like your Congressman or woman, it's about sending them a message.

Congress has been sending us a LOT of messages. I'll give you an example. Four months ago I took several hours to write a heart-felt, very well-thought out, deeply researched letter to one of the Colorado Senator, Michael Bennet regarding his vote on the monster 2000+ page Health Care bill.

In the letter I gave facts, and information in regards to the my own personal health insurance (and of course, by default similar care for thousands of others here in Colorado because they have similar policies). I explained that the people don't WANT a Congress-controlled system, and we certainly don't want Congress making it MORE difficult on people.

He wrote back a three paragraph letter. Thanking me for writing and giving my opinion, telling me he was going to vote HIS way and NOT MINE (or by his constituents) and lastly explaining how he was there to a job IN SPITE of PEOPLE LIKE ME.

I let it go... then three weeks ago, he was on the local radio and TV channels (remember I wrote him THREE MONTHS BEFORE) saying, "My Constituents have finally spoken! They are ASKING FOR CHANGE and I am going to VOTE FOR this bill!"
Really? Fire them all. Good, Bad, Right or Left. THEY WORK FOR US. We DO NOT WORK FOR THEM!

I agree, maybe we should save all 4-5 of them that at least showed a some conservative tendencies... keeping in mind that the point is to punish those who have violated their oaths... which ALL of them have done at one time or another if the move suited them or their careers.

One that I will always remember is Sen. Coburn, mr. conservative incarnate, the conservatives conservative stand up on the floor of the Senate speaking so eloquently about the complete unconstitutionality of the TARP bail-out, how wrong it was for congress to be doing this, how senators should stand firm and follow the Constitution... Then in the next sentence said he will would vote for it, and he did!

So yeah, the "fire them all" works for me.

Maybe there's one or two in the House. Absolutely none in the Senate. They all gave unanimous consent to dispense with readings of the health care monstrosity.
