I had my own post about “shoes”, but I didn’t ping ya. You can guess the content...a black man, shoe size and a Japanese man.

Even if we knew nothing of the custom in Japan this has submission written all over it. No eye contact, etc.

bump! for one of the best darned threads on FR, with over 16,000 views now—but less than a week old, which probably stared the political prairie fire of a lifetime.....

I wonder ... hard to believe no one else

Even
Dick Cheney was commenting on it. And some of the things Karl Rove said means that they must have turned to FR, or at least one of the sites that fed off the initial FR reporting.
I would imagine Jay Leno and others have it into their nighttime skit routines by now....

It seems to me (on Hannity today) that he mentioned he saw the photos of other world leaders not bowing, but Obama doing it. Of course that originated here with the individual photos first—10 of them— and then the one good Freeper organizing them in a slide show, they then were picked up by UConn Young Republicans and placed on YouTube, and from there on it just took off. That is my recollection.

I think that’s correct ... the comparisons
probably sent it viral. YAY for us!

And now watch Patrice Lumumba Obongo, and rightly so, take a hit of
about 3% to 4% in popularity over the next several days, to push his nationwide disapproval up over his approval for the first time since inauguration. And as it should be.
Image is everything (even though we also have the facts and substance), and in this case it was a very damaging image indeed.
百聞一見しかず (one picture is worth a thousand words). Many people at American diners in the morning over their coffee with Joe and Madge sitting with them at the counter, in airports waiting for planes with the CNN sound down, coming in from work and kicking their shoes off turning to FOX, etc. etc. dont have time for 1,000 words but they do for brief, simple but long-lasting images which burn a perception of a larger reality into their minds. Therein lies the true beauty of The Tokyo Obamabow. (My only real regret is that it cheapens and weakens the United States at-large itself, not damaging just Obozo.)

It is not a huge issue here, but it got plenty of airplay. What happened is it also got picked up big in China, and Taiwan, and also in South Korea as well. It set off a firestorm in the South Korean blogosphere. You can imagine they were none to happy about that subservient, apologetic bow.

And apparently he didn’t get what he wanted
from China.
That IS the tragedy, as you said. The world
knows fully well now that we as a nation are
weak due to his utter appeasing and incompetence.
God, save us.
