Conservatives4Palin quickly became a highly influential website last year and afterwards. It is the place conservatives who support Governor Sarah Palin in one way or another go to. It is also the place where her fans fight smears launched at her by her enemies, both Republicans and Democrats.
Hot Air is one of the biggest and influential blogs in the world and its run by conservatives. Created by Michelle Malkin, it has two prominent conservatives writing for it, Ed Morrissey and an anonymous blogger who goes by the alias of AllahPundit.
Last time I checked, Hot Air has approximately 1 million hits every day, thereby making it the biggest conservative member of the blogosphere.
Although the two websites share a lot of views and principles both are conservative, Republican, principled and influential they are also, sadly, engaged in some kind of feud. Conservatives4Palin has complained for months now that Hot Airs AllahPundit does not treat Palin fairly, that he uses every anti-Palin headline to continue his smearcampaign against the former Alaska governor and that he, by doing so, discredits himself and the website he writes for.
Hot Air obviously disagrees. AP continues to criticize the governor, mostly, it seems, because he truly believes she doesnt stand a chance of winning presidential elections and because he appears to believe she just is not fit for the job. In other words, C4P believes Palin is a great Republican, AllahPundit believes she hurts the conservative movement and the Republican brand or so I gather.
In any case, one hopes the two sides will stop having it in for each other (and each others preferred candidates) soon. Even if Palin does not become her partys presidential nominee three years from now, she is and will for a long time remain a highly influential conservative leader, while C4P and Hot Air will undoubtedly continue to be among the biggest and most influential conservative blogs in the world.
Live and let live, cant we all get along, give peace a chance, imagine
you know the drill.
For any Palin supporter or anyone interested in her Conservatives4Palin and her own facebook page are the only truly reliable sources.
Ap would lose that battle...he is a small fish and Sarah has now earned the name Sarahcuda.
I think alot of AP’s comments are just snarkiness. He knows he is going to draw heavy fire in the comments.
Your post is right on! Cudos for writing it!!
I hope it’s not “Here we go again.” Last time conservatives took too long to get behind one candidate. Now we have a genuine conservative and conservatives are joining libs in trying to destroy her. Libs are scared to death of her. Would they be so scared if they didn’t think she could win? She can win if we all get behind her and not let the jealousy of some of her detractors deprive us of our candidate.
This seems to happen to Republicans and conservatives. Many of us are “A” type personalities and competitive in what we do. Tea Party Patriots and Tea Party Express groups have similar problems with division.
We need to let small things slip and keep in mind the big picture. There is strength in numbers and the common cause of Liberty which we all seek. We need to stand for basic conservative values and let the best person win. The fight between true conservatives makes us stronger if it doesn’t kill us first.
Back when, AP was posing as a semi-horny little boy, he was sort of cutesy - if one likes that sort of thing. When EM showed up, he covered the Iraqi war for the most part - with big contributions from Michael Yon.
After the war wond down, and Bush's ratings fell, AP became the snarky little SOB he is now, while EM’s posts degenerated into almost unreadable screeds.
MM only appears as reposts of stuff from her site, and in video clips.
I would think all Republicans, Conservatives or even a few DIABLOs could support limited government, lower taxes, strong national defense and opposing the global warming hoax with its evil “solutions” proposed by AlGore and the UN.
That doesn’t sound too “radical” or “right-wing” to me.
As for me, and my previously politically ambivalent extended family and friends, we support Sarah Palin. There are few other Conservative leaders on the horizon that have inspired us like Sarah. Maybe that makes us “nutcases” or maybe we are just patriotic Americans. But until another national leader takes up the Conservative cause and stands up to Washington, she’s our gal.
I agree with what you are saying.
I’d add that there many conservative politicians who are great conservtives. That is not the issue. The issue is that many of our tru blue, unabashed, attack the media and liberalism type of conservatives don’t have “IT”.
“IT is the personal appeal and charsima to attract supporters. I’ve supported 2%’rs in almost evey primary out of principle, but they usually don’t take hold with the public. Sarah Palin has the unique ability to gain attention by showing leadership and her “IT”.
There have been a multitude of studies on “IT”...but it can be wired into a politician. It’s hard-wired. You have it or you don’t. Sarah Palin has that and it is angering the liberal-moderat cabal that now runs the RNC. It baffles the Leftists, and unfortunately, it’s gaining some angst and jealousy from supporters of other conservative candidates.
Palin is going to be a force in American politics in some fashion. So expect the attacks to keep coming because she has “IT”. Conservatives shoud be grateful that one of us has this rare collection of ideological beliefs and the ability to attract popular support.
I’m all for warranted criticisim of Palin, but there really isn’t a lot of criticism that isn’t made up, based on rumors and culitivated by people who don’t like her anyway. Honestly, has any national candidate been attacked and scrutinized the way Palin was the day her nomination was announced to this very day? Kerry, Liberman, Gore and Edwards all went their separate ways after their losses and they never got any of this day-to-day coverage that Palin is generating.
