Limbaugh already down one vote

Rush Limbaugh's bid to buy the St. Louis Rams ran into opposition within the NFL on Tuesday. Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay vowed to vote against him and commissioner Roger Goodell said the conservative commentator's "divisive" comments would not be tolerated from any NFL insider.

I luv RUSH & been a consistent listener. However, this is some poetic justice. Ole RUSHBO has played the lovable fuzzball, never wanted to get into activism. No, he’ll just talk the subject & joke about the real problems. Now, his joking & lack of activism is at his doorstep & is too late to change. He never once brought up Savage’s issues. In that respect he acted like a RINO & he will suffer from such. As far as the NFL goes this is just a turning point to replace it with alternatives. I’m a strong college FB supporter. That’s enough replacement.

Anyone want to do a racial breakdown of this list? I bet it confirms Rush's Crips and Bloods remark. Of course, anyone who follows the NFL knows his comment was right.

You are totally correct on the salary cap ... I decided after I posted that I would dig up the official word on salary cap, and I found exactly what you said. I did not realize the last did not get approval.

And again .. Rush made his point .. all the sport “readers” here have no clue about anything, they are even bigger orons than the lamestream media.... here in SW Ohio they have given the false impression that salary cap is going away. They were to lazy to research it themselves. One should know better to listen to a journalist. (excuse me .. news/propaganda reader)

The teams that thit bottom and then bounce back to top tiers in a year or two do exactly what you say ... they trade down in the draft and bargain shop. The constant bottom cleaners go after that #1 pick year after year after year. The Bengals finally hit one in Carson Palmer (I still think he is suspect) but .. who can forget Akili Smith, Justin Smith, Peter Warrick on and on and on of high bungles pick that are pickin Burgers these days. lol

Thanks for the ping. Heck I was still not used to Britt Fart wearing purple...and now some NFL hack is insulting and slandering Rush when he’s offering to buy a team? The news is just more and more strange everyday. Zero got the Nobhead Pizza Prize too...OK everybody more duct tape!!! And don’t forget to drink every time Zero says “notion”!

"I want to know when players like Lynn Swann, who Rush had on his show when Swanny was running for office, will come out and defend him. Walt Williams? Condi Rice? JC Watts? Karl Malone?"

Good questions, all.
Have to wait & see; but, knowing human nature as I *like* to think I do they'll throw him to the wolves & head for the high grass. Sure would love to be wrong, this once.

OTOH was speaking with someone about this. Had to ask how Rush couldn't have suspected he'd get the ESPN treatment. Same group, same result. Surely he's heard "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...".

In hindsight looks like he fell into a deliberate trap designed specifically to make him look like an absolute fool.

State-of-the-art spiteful.

On the contrary, I think he got the usual rat suspects to fall for the same, smelly cheese. In the end, racism will be exposed even further- bolstering his assertion that Obama has done nothing but worsen race relations.

With any ligation win, Rush should donate the money to scholarship funds for black student athletes.

The organization is pretty good, but the Irsays have always been a little on the disreputable side. Reference the Baltimore Colts’ midnight move to Indianapolis.

A lot of us were not very happy with how the Rams fled Orange County to St. Louis. Cleveland later got the Browns. metro LA still has yet to get a team since the Raiders and Rams left.

Worse: The Rams left behind the irrevocably damaged Big A in Anaheim which was arguably the 2nd most beautiful major league baseball stadium (behind Dodger Stadium) ... until it was "renovated" for football.

I could possibly see forgiving the Rams who were my favorite childhood team when they played in the Coliseum if Rush were to become an owner, but it would still take some time.

Really?

"In the end, racism will be exposed even further- bolstering his assertion that Obama has done nothing but worsen race relations."

Fascinating POV there, and, quite plausible.

"With any ligation win, Rush should donate the money to scholarship funds for black student athletes."

Like he did with the letter?
You have some mind there, I need to seek your opin out more often. Nothing short of inspiring. Really. ;^)

As I said to another poster -- after I'd time to calm down, reflect.
This first broke today, this attempted smear, isn't 24 hours old. Let's see what transpires, tomorrow.
If others are to come to his defense they need a least a little time to react. Right?

See anything before I, please, ping me.
I'll do likewise for you, OK? :^)

Los Angeles had two teams and couldn't keep one. No sympathy from me.

go after a man who's only crime was words

You're missing some punctuation there or something. I started following[1] Rush in 1988, shortly after he came to KFI. There cannot possibly be a racist bone in that man's body. Cannot be. He has only committed the "crime" of dissent in a society that no longer permits that when certain individuals are involved.

[1] "Following" as in listening to his radio show, later watching his TV show and even later reading his web site and not "following" as in obeying everything he says.

Oh I know that. I’m repeating the words of the ESPN guy. He admitted he’s not a Limbaugh fan, but actually stood up for Rush saying that to him, actions (of NFL criminal players) speak for louder than anything Rush says.

Why stir up the hornet’s nest. Limbaugh should have kept this under wraps.

He was. It was leaked. Why do you automatically assume Rush was at fault?

Hey NFL: SHUT UP & PLAY FOOTBALL

Hear hear! Your remarks were right on target too. Stopped watching football early 2000's when Rams started going downhill. I remember hearing/reading that the league, at that time, was comprised of 75% minorities. And now.....it should be called the animal league (from what I hear).

His daddy did it. On ESPN they had a film about the Baltimore Colts band and how they kept playing to show the NFL that Baltimore still wanted a team. Mr. Irsay was lying through his teeth about moving the team.

The only two that I know are white are Eric Steinbach and Rob Reynolds. There’s about 5 or 6 on the list I don’t know about, but the others are black. It’s funny seeing Reynolds and Santonio Holmes on the list as they are two of my least favorite Ohio St. players over the last decade. They were both thugs in college. Steinbach’s issue I think was an isolated incident because he’s been a model citizen with the Browns and one of their few good players. Sorry for rambling a bit.

Your definition of vulgar is a bit antiquated. Calling the commoners vulgar would be like calling many of us liberals. In the classical sense of the word it might be accurate, but it has taken on a new meeting. You’re probably a good guy but you’re coming across as a snob. What’s so common about Rush? He’s the Babe Ruth of his industry.
