Healthcare Reform or Bust???
There has been a push from the Obama administration to overhaul the healthcare industry. Im not going to go into detail here for the simple fact that you would have to be living in the remote parts of the Amazon not to have heard something about healthcare debate. Now is not the time to rehash what has already been said over and over.
NOW is the time for action

It is a bit premature to make calls on cloture before the two bills in the Senate are reconciled and the resulting bill scored. We don't know what will be in the final Senate bill. Still, if it makes you happy, do it.
I wrote and called my butthead today... I’m from NY, so guess who he is....
I’m so sorry for you.
This from a google search: http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html
This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollees cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

My congress critter totally supports this crap. No chance to vote him out either, unless you want the NUT case former mayor of Memphis in his place.
Right and Tally Ho.
i read that snowe plans to vote no in committee to
give her more power in the joining the two bills !
So, the cloture vote is not scheduled yet ???
Well I call Lincoln, Conrad and Nelson just o give them hell anyways ?
The only caveat is if the Dems try to pull a fast one by attaching the bill as an amendment of another bill that has already cleared cloture and is ready for a vote.
Doesn't a PAIR (a Boxer and a DiFi) of Limousine Lib Idiotesses beat One Al Franken??
Thanks for reminding me of yet another ‘new rule’ for when we take back our country.
NEW RULES for a NEW REPUBLIC:
No sneaking in amendments that are for one issue into bills for a completely different issue, just because it will be hard to pass. One bill per issue.
NO UNIONS. We wont need em. Well already have a framework of standard employment practices in place. That means no crippling strikes that run costs of business up sky high just to benefit a few.
No outsourcing. If a business wants to outsource to a foreign country, they can move there. Well help em pack.
Few or no regulations/restrictions on corporations. Business must be free to prosper and to employ Americans.
No workey, no votey. Everybody works, even if its just to pick up trash on city streets. Deadbeats are not allowed. That will leave more money for the REAL needy of society, the sick, disabled, etc....vs. the eternally stupid and terminally lazy. You got too many kids to work...you work at a subsidized daycare so moms that have skills to work elsewhere are free to do just that...work. In other words you still contribute.
No attorneys may become President! No exceptions. Attorneys are, by nature, too slimy to be trusted to run, not ruin, the country, as the Clintons and Zero have thoroughly proven.
My mom is in the same boat. She’s on Tri-Care too and with everything going up except her social security benefits, she’s slowly sinking financially. This will just be one more big wave ala the federal government socialists that might sink her and others like her.
Zero and his Marxist buds in the WH will eventualy throw ALL Americans under that bus. It’s just a matter of who goes when.
Amend that to Democrat Attorneys. Or how about just Democrats?
There are some good, conservative attorneys out there you know!
laughs
Yes, I know there are ‘some’ good ones. But when you’re talking about politicians, and the most powerful position in the world.... who really wants to take another chance ....considering our past history and track record of ‘picking em’?
So I was thinking tomorrow was the day to take off from work and spend the day on the phones to these Senators - esp the few Dems who might vote against this nightmare.....
Am I too early on this?
(can’t take but so many day off you know...)

It is up to you. If I were calling tomorrow, I would be asking for no vote on cloture on any amendment until 72 hours after the amendment has been made available online. No vote on cloture for a final vote on a bill until 72 hours after the final version of the bill is published online. Those would be worthwhile calls to make, and keep track of who commits to that and who just takes down your comment.
But the vote in committee tomorrow is on a conceptual outline of a bill that is yet to be written. And when this bill is actually written (some staffers somewhere could already be working on it, but it probably won’t be done for a few more days), it won’t be the actual bill that goes to the floor. It will be combined with the bill from the HELP committee. That work will be done by Reid, Baucus, and probably Rahm Emanual, along with some Senate staffers. That will generate the “final health care bill” which will be submitted as an amendment to H.R.1586. If I had to guess, we are a week or more away from the final bill.
The only way this could be expedited from that is if Reid has staffers already working on the legislative language of only the parts of the Finance Committee bill that he plans to put into the final mix. If they are doing that, they could have the final, merged bill much quicker. I think we need to keep our eyes on Reid, Durbin, Baucus Rham and any other administration officials who might get involved with this.
I guess it wouldn’t hurt to make some calls, but I don’t know if it’s time to take off work for it yet. It’s your call.

Thanks for the information.
I will wait a few more days for the day off to call...but maybe make some calls at my lunch hour.
The deal is the Obamunists believe we the people have gone to sleep out here and won’t be paying attention or know when to try to flood the phones again...or at least they are hoping for that.
Thanks to FR, we will be on top of things.
But I plan to stay active on the phones til there is no more chance to stop it....I hope many others will too.
Great plan...and considering that we have an admendment system...is it REALLY ever completely too late?
