Bump for reference.
It’s going to take those folks a while to clean up. It appears they’ve already gotten started on it though. What a mess.
My first thoughts, as well... that’s going to be a job. Hopefully, they’ve seen the end of the aftershocks/waves.
ObaMao hates Samoans. They are too Christian for him.
Yup... Winning the Olympics for a city that’s a haven of gang activities is far more important.
“Where’s Obama?
Denamrk?”
>>>>>
I heard a report on Fox that he had declared it a disaster area so they can get federal aid. Has Obama declared California drought area a disaster area yet?
Isn’t Samoa the equivalent of a plantation for the Pelosi StarKist empire? No doubt Miss Nancy will seek federal aid for the folks who work for Mr Paul
Looks like tsunami damage
0bama hates Samoans.
Yup... Winning the Olympics for a city thats a haven of gang activities is far more important with the added excuse of being worn out from the stress and needing ANOTHER tax payer vacation for two/three weeks at some resort.
I think most of it is tsunami damage. It’s hard to say which did more, but the tsunami appears to have taken out the bridge and tossed the vehicles and houses around.
Why? Do they also believe in the Constitution?
Excellent video....
It appears that American Samoa enjoys a high standard of living unless this impression is skewed by the proximity to waterfront properties.
One thing I have been curious about however. When I lived in Navy housing in Roosevelt Roads Puerto Rico it was constructed with concrete reinforced with steel to be hurricane proof.
Is that type of construction cost prohibitive? Otherwise it would seem that it would be a consideration for areas subject to violent weather.

Welcome to FR.
Conceivably I’m reading into it . . . however . .
Watching the video . . .
I kept thinking . . .
‘This is nothing. It going to get much, MUCH worse.
Here.
Then I recalled, this is not Tonga, per se . . . this is American Samoa . . . AMERICAN Samoa.
This seems like, feels like . . . a warning somehow.
Would sure like to be wrong.
The big tsunami in 2004 (if memory serves) killed 700K+ — this one got 99 so far. Seems to me the warning system worked spectacularly well.
