In the first few minutes, Couric asks him about his party affiliation (he leans libertarian), and he starts his answer by saying that when he was younger, he was socially liberal, but that he was also an alcoholic. When he got sober, he realized that liberalism was really not all it was cracked up to be. Couric didn't like that at all, but Beck just does an aw-shucks and gets out of it. It is a great.

I once tried to be a Libertarian. This was until they started saying they were pro-choice on everything. I quickly changed to unaffiliated.
About Beck though. I think some people are being a little hard on him. He has continued to lash at this corrupt administration without ceasing. He has called out people like no one else lately.
"Courage is the first of human qualities because it is the quality which guarantees all others." Winston Churchill

I hear ya - and as for Beck, honestly, he doesn’t get into endorsements; he deals with principle and supports anyone, it seems to me, that is against corruption, misuse of power and anti-American values (Obambi admin is all of the above..) so he’s OK in my book - until he starts supporting politically - *gasp* - Ron Paul!!! Flame away!!!!!!!!
But this FR... a herd of cats.. if you came out for Apple Pie..
Someone would say Yeah but what kind of APPLE?...
ONLY FR can throughly vet any subject..
She changed the subject several other times when he cornered her.
LOL!
No flaming here. Me, I could go for a little isolationism.
As soon as someone proves to me that we are capable of keeping our own house in order, I’ll support more of trying to manage the houses of others.
Yes indeed.
Beck does not pretend to do his own research. He has said on his program that he has a staff of researchers.
It is easy to underestimate the role of the “salesman” which is what he basically is. A message, or information needs to be “sold” just like a product. This selling function is supremely important. I have seen many great ideas, but they remained unknown due to lack of a good salesman. Similarly, I have seen things like the “pet rock” rise to popularity. Same with singers and writers having an agent...many we never hear of are technically much better than the ones who leap to fame. To sell something is a talent and an integral part of all walks of life. Even in a job interview a person is in the process of salesmanship.
To have a product or information is one thing. To get the information “out there” is a whole different function and right now it is very much needed because the other side has been doing a GREAT job of selling their truly inferior ideas and presenting fiction as facts.
Without Beck a portion of the outrage going on by what he uncovers daily wouldn’t have been exposed at all or as effectively. Hannity did a good job last year, but then in the last few months he has not taken the lead instead he has followed Rush and gone at things from a different angle than Beck.
Hannity is good at exposing other thing including the Valley Hope Forgot and discussing Republican politics.
Levin’s contribution is his manifesto book.
Wait until Imus and Stossel get a louder voice by joining the Fox family. Then they will come from a different angle. The more voices out there exposing Obama and Liberals the better.
Excellent interview. Glenn sliced and diced Perkie Katie and there wasn’t anything she could do about it.
I always thought of Imus as a non-PC liberal.
Well he angered the liberals on MSNBC that’s for sure. And he was on Hannity for a interview. He was more shock-Jock to me. But since he talks news, I would imagine he might talk about Obama unfavorably. YOu know on MSNBC he had to talk to the people on the network. He tried to mix in people who were a little different sometimes. Who knows what he is up to for I haven’t followed him since local radio dumped him after the 2007 fiasco.
Yes I agree. It was a well done Interview by Beck. Maybe he wanted to take on the MSN.
For the morality record:
Obama: (at saddleback forum) I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman.
Couric: Do you agree with Obama on gay marriage?
Beck: Mm hmm (yes)
Couric: Do you believe abortion should be illegal?
Beck: Yes
Beck said he wanted to leave it to the states. What is Obama’s position.
I watched DVR of interview segment just now so I could quote him exactly. (I’ve not watched full interview on internet) I looked at transcript of Saddleback forum to quote Obama. Beck on states, was it abortion or marriage?
So why does he need to be deified for the content?
The more my brother drank, the more liberal he became. Now he and his wife are alcoholics and both are fanatical Obama supporters.
