The Legal expert opinion disturbs me. According to him, those poor boys just need a little counseling. That is one of the main causes of this type of behavior. The scum bag doesn’t want anything to happen to the little darlings. He knows the animals will be in court in the near future.
No, no, no... ‘Sticking up’ for someone is NOT for EVERY child.
I was a ‘smaller’ kid in school and quite timid. A time or two, I did open my mouth about things and like one poster said - the focus shifted to ME. With INTEREST compounded.
Over time I learned how to fight back wisely and be able to intimidate bullies at their own game.
But come on, there are lots of kids, especially girls who just don’t have the tenacity to do that and would get pummelled badly.
The FIRST option for ALL kids should be: to remove yourself quickly from the situation.
The LAST option, when all else fails is: FIGHT BACK with EVERYTHING you have.
Yeah they are animals but notice what is not said? This is where the left has the GOP/right by the balls. Race. All too typical of the GOP and Holder was right. By and large cowards when it comes to race. You are flat out stupid if you can’t imagine the “news” and the national conversation if the only thing different were the races. The Marxist are using race as the battering ram of destruction and unless we embrace it they will destroy us. The left keeps the right by and large always defending against “racism”. Meanwhile the racial stratosphere is what fills their ranks. Wake Up.
Don’t most schools have a policy you can’t defend yourself in a fight and your friends can’t help you either? You have to wait for an adult? What a load of garbage that is.
Animals? Cue the little kid shouting “that’s racist!”
Ding! Pain is temporary.
The worst part...the most dangerous part, and the most irresponsible part is that, in the eyes of the school, if the kids around intervene, they are treated no differently than the attacker. And even worse, the KID WHO IS BEING ATTACKED WOULD PROBABLY GET PUNISHED FOR DEFENDING HIMSELF.
In our state, the law says that you are guilty of an infraction if you “participate in a fight”. That’s almost criminal, and in this day and age, downright dangerous.
Imagine a 4.0 kid who does his work and is never in trouble. Now, imagine a punk who makes “F”’s and doesn’t care if he gets punished (or in some cases, actually WANTS to be kicked out of school).
If the bully doesn’t care to get punished, he’s just given himself a big advantage. He can beat the 4.0 kid at will and expect to not encounter any resistance. And if the 4.0 kid fights back, he will be given the same punishment as the bully!
I REALLY want some parent to sue over this. I think if a kid gets really hurt, they could prove that the school didn’t protect the kid, and that they prohibited the kid from protecting himself.
It is criminal. It really is.
See my post #27. I was in a hurry and posted it before I saw what you said.
So wise you think you are and so proud you seem to be that your daughter wouldn't even scream or encourage others to scream. That might have stopped the beating.
Sheesh!
If trouble comes at school, lay low honey, don't sound the alarm, it might direct attention to you, let the others fend for themselves brave little girl.
Sheesh!
If you're in a burning building, remember what your father taught you, get out, save yourself brave little girl, don't wait to sound the alarm.
Sheesh!
If things get really bad and our soldiers need medical assistance, don't get involved, it's only our country they're protecting, you just lookout for yourself brave little girl.
Sheesh!
You are a pretty brave guy.... being so fearless that you could send someone else’s 13 year old daughter on her third school day out of the 8th grade up against a gang of street thugs in the middle of a wilding.
No, I don’t claim to be brave, but I taught my children to stand up for what is right, and no I wouldn’t send someone else’s daughter, but I’d send my own. You might be surprised how motivating screaming can be, both positive to the good guys, and negative to the bad guys.
You don’t know me or my daughter. I would stack her up against any 13 year old I have met.
Nevertheless, I would still advise her NOT to jump into the middle of that fight.
Funny, in all of the discussions we had regarding her first experience in high school, we never approached the subject How To Stop a Gang Fight On the School Bus.
Cheers,
OK, I’m sure you’re a good parent. My point was, where do you draw the line?
Kindest Regards
Under NCLB schools are supposed to report student violence. I really wonder how many of them do. If I were a parent of a kid who defended himself in a fight, I would make damn sure everybody knew about it from the local authorities to the state education commissioner, and I’d let the school know that’s exactly what I was going to do.
And I've taught my own kids: defend the weak from the bully. If the administration tries to punish you, I'll handle that part of it.
It looked to me like he was going to kill him, so I, myself 3 sheets to the wind, intervened. The white boy hit me in the eyebrow with a beer bottle. I felt no pain but the blood spluttered way out.
The shore patrol came and took the sailors back to their ships, presumbably the white boy to the brig, and the Mexican American to sick bay.
The MPs came and took me to the US Army hospital, where I told the German doctor employed by the US Army that I had ran into a wall. The German doctor looked at me and told me to tell him what really happened, so I told him a drunken sailor had hit me with a beer bottle. The doctor said he knew it wasn't a wound from running into a wall and wrote in the records: "In the line of duty."
I still have the scar from that encounter, and although I didn't then, and don't now, consider it something to be proud of, I have never regretted it.
