As you can tell by the time lapsed photography above, yesterday's 9/12 Tea Party rally in Washington, D.C. far exceeded all expectations. Estimates by local authorities report 1.2 million people attended the rally ABC (and Fox News), said the crowd was nearly double that, with an estimated 2 million people in attendance.
As late as the day before the march the White House claimed they had no idea the rally was even planned, which just seems silly as the event was six months in the making, the news was all over the internet (and Fox news), there was a bus driving all across the country, drawing huge crowds, leading up to the rally and there were permits gotten from the organizers. It just shows how dismissive the Obama administration and the Democrat-led Congress are of the growing dissatisfaction in the country.
Now that they have "noticed" the progressives are making going to minimalize yesterday's two million visitors . They will continue to call them, Tea Baggers, Nazis, Right Wing fringe, and AstroTurf. But if they don't believe that it is an expression of main stream America they have lost touch with reality.
David Axelrod, the AstroTurf king, is a great example of someone who just doesn't get it:

How can you lose that which you never had?
And these people are in charge? Scary
What is this Axelrod really? Just a shameless promoter...in the tradition of the dark side of hollywood.
Of course not. They only watch CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, and PBS, and read the NYT, WaPo, LAT, Time Magazine and Newsweek.
Oh, yes we do. 20% consider themselves liberal. The rest consider themselves conservative, republican or independent. And independents for the most part have left obama.
If Axelrod and Obama feel 20% (probably not all are for obama now) of the country matter only and they will create legislation to appease that percentage, they can kiss their a** gbye. One term for obama if we can't get him out on criminal charges. And axelrod won't ever darken the political door again. Both will be pariahs.
Boy have YOU got THAT one right !!!
Hey Spanky! Dismissing us will spell political doom for you and your idiot boss.
If that is true, this county's in greater danger than I thought.
So why does Fox News keep repeating “tens of thousands”?
The list, ping
Our only hope is at the voting booth and the possibility of undoing the hopey changey things that Axelrod is going to shove down our throats.
No wonder we are losing in the Mid East. How can they know what’s happening half a world away when they don’t know what’s happening under their own nose.
They’ve probably no idea that North Korea has nukes, either.
I have been emailing different people in the news field for years and telling them that the silent majority is not going to be silent any longer. We are fed up and it is way past time for us to do something about it. Just sorry I could not be in DC yesterday.
They think it is a bad dream.
And Iran? Harmless!!
