I agree...what he should have said was, “Prove me wrong”
As I said on another thread I think Joe Wilson should apologize “I’m sorry Mr. President that you are a liar”.
That should do it.
I agree with Rush.
I agree 100%.
But I think someone probably informed Wilson that his opponent in the upcoming election was receiving a boatload of money from across the country. Meanwhile, the GOP was criticzing Wilson for telling the truth.
Ganged up on by the Left, and abandoned by his own party, I think Wilson made a pragmatic decision and apologized.
It would have been better if the other Republicans in the audeience had done a "Spartacus" and joined in the heckling.
Note that it was the Republican Leadership who asked him to apologize. I think they’d worry about decorum as they were pushed into the tumbrels.
Hopefully, Wilson will make a TV appearance or two are say ‘hey, I’m right, but I shouldn’t have said it like I did’. I think Thomas Sowell already called Zero a liar, so Wilson wouldn’t be breaking new ground.
Once again, history has spoken, despite Obama's machinations to control the debate.
Joe Wilson was my hero...until he apologized. He spoke the truth but lacked the courage to stand tall. We need people who stand tall!!!!
I agree but Rs always have to apologize.
Joe Wilson will have so much $$$$$ he won’t know what to do with it.
Anyone who sends a check would be smart to copy it and send the copy to his/her own rep. Include a note stating that your cash goes to the Reps with the backbone.
He went from Hero to flat tire with one apology. Heroes don’t back down under pressure.
Me too!! NO APOLOGIES....ILLEGALS WILL GET FREE HEALTH CARE.
Then again, it is a teachable moment and Joe Wilson should just invite Obama over for a beer and discuss the stupidity.
....And the lies!!!
I agree, I wish he didn’t apologize either...I understand it was for the sake of decorum in that this was not the place to shout that out...but that never stopped the dems from making their noise whenever Bush spoke.
I am sick & tired of this double standard hypocrisy with these dims!
I also think about the fact that the pubbies have requested audiences with zero & been denied entry to the table...so perhaps this was the only way the Repubs could CALL HIM OUT!
Wilson blew a teachable moment.
While we are at it why dont we apologize to Saudi Arabia for 911. Disgusting.
The "outburst" WILL (and is being) spun as uncivil when, IN FACT, just at the beginning of the paragraph that ended with Wilson's "you lie" shout, The President of the United States clearly inferred that Sarah Palin is telling "lies"... "lies plain and simple" he said from the PODIUM on the floor of Congress.
In the end, I feel the president and the msm lose the argument... But I feel that we risk taking the argument back in a sort-of repeat of what we've already moved past... and that is, that "angry mob" distraction tactic. There is STRONG forward momentum going right now where people are realizing that they need to check into the President's WORDS... I don't want this to cause *any* conservative, republican, democrat, whatever to get distracted (for any amount of time) by what amounts to, at worst, a singular argument about bad decorum (the President's from the Podium, or Joe's from the seats.
I think Joe Wilson should be supported and not thrown under the bus. He's right, he is a representative of the people and he clearly was a vessel bringing the outrage the people have about being called liars and actually being lied to by the president.
