CNN Finally Reports on "Van Jones Controversy"; Tries to Paint Glenn Beck as the Bad Guy - Video

Here is video of CNN finally doing a report on the "Van Jones Controversy." It mentions specifically his signing a 9/11 "Truther" Petition, but carefully point out that Jones did not "carefully review the language" in the petition before signing, and that Jones has said he never has agreed with the document.

It also is careful to say that President Obama "does not agree" with the signing of the "Truther" document.

The report mentions Jones' having said he was a "communist", and that Jones made derogatory remarks about Republicans calling them "a**holes."

But as you would expect, the CNN Report then tries to paint Glenn Beck as the bad guy in all this, pointing out that Beck has led the charge against Jones, saying "some" suggest Beck is doing so because Jones' former organization has been trying to get Beck sponsors to drop him. The report says that Jones "who was formerly known for his environmental record," is now the center of controversy over these past statements -- as if Jones' own past statements should not be an issue!

It took CNN all week to put out a report on Van Jones (I did not find others), and while it does mention some of the key problems with Jones (not all), they could not help themselves from implying the real problem here is Glenn Beck and conservatives for pointing out Jones' radical record.

For the MSM, this is pretty objective. The main thing is, they are swallowing their pride, and starting to mention Van Jones name. Mission accomplished.

My worry isn’t that Obama will keep him in his Administration. My worry is that Obama will dump Van Jones too quickly.

This a “freebie” issue that make Jones and Obama punching bags for the Republicans.

November 22, 1970 -- During a fund-raising tour for GI deserters, Vietnam Veterans Against the War and the Black Panthers, Jane Fonda is quoted in the Detroit Free Press as telling a University of Michigan audience:

"I would think that if you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would someday become communist," and "The peace proposal of the Viet Cong is the only honorable, just, possible way to achieve peace in Vietnam."

Fonda made the following statement at the University of Texas:
"We've got to establish a Socialist economic structure that will limit private profit-oriented businesses. Whether the transition is peaceful depends on the way our present governmental leaders react. We must commit our lives to this transition ...... We should be very proud of our new breed of soldier. It's not organized but it's mutiny, and they have every right." --Karen Elliott Dallas Morning News December 11, 1971

From 1972: "I am not a do-gooder, I am a revolutionary. A revolutionary woman."

REPORTER 1: Jane, who are you voting for?

REPORTER 2: Who gets your vote?

FONDA: Obama.

REPORTER 2: Oh, my God. Heaven help us all.

RUSH: The reporter for TMZ said, "Oh, God. Heaven help us all." Obviously the reporter is an Obama supporter.

So Jones just wanted to lend the clout of his signature because -- what exactly?

There is no conclusion other than the obvious.

According to John Gibson, the truthers say they called each signer and read them the petition to be sure they understood it and stood behind their signatures when they signed it. Somebody is not telling the truth.

They had to wait until all the charges were aired and had been addressed, so they could cover this as “old news”.

Exactly! Of course he read it - and agreed with it, when he signed it. He’s using weasel words to try and get out of this mess.

All petitioners were contacted by phone or e-mails to confirm their presence on the petition. 'Nuf said!!!

“Jones did not ‘carefully review the language’”

Yeah; we love it when powerful people making decisions about our lives don’t bother to read stuff. Gives me warm fuzzies all over.

I think those in the media know this is a big story. They are trying to sit it out until after Obama’s upcoming Health Care speech.

Yes, that evil Beck hypnotized Van Jones and caused him to say all the stupid and racist over the years. It was a long term project you see. All those clips Beck shows were really made with Van Jones evil Conservative twin who looks and acts like him. It was a skillful plot—as great as the one Bushed used to blow up the twin towers.

We should not even give CNN the time of day or lead actions against them. They just are what they are. Encourage people in mass just to dis-invite them into their homes and stick with Fox.

I think they are just waiting until Obama gets rid of him, so the story is about how he was forced out, rather than what he did.

I noticed on my social networking site that a dear, sweet, devout Christian friend of mine, who happens to be black, became “a fan of Van Jones.”

can anyone explain this phenomenon to me? I’m serious, I would like some input.

This is very very disturbing to me.
