These questions about the WH vetting process are getting redundant. I suspect the whole idea behind the czars positions was to circumvent vetting. Vetting will only be used for positions that need (in the WH eyes) congressional approval.

You are right that he was hired because he was left of left. But, everyone is expendable in the service of the One. Someone else, just as looney, will be found to take his place. Read about Mark Lloyd, the FCC diversity Czar, about whom minimal fuss has been made. He's still there. His main goal is suppression of opposition free speech.
