An Unprecedented Power Grab
America Talks ^ | 08/30/09 | David Zublick

We stand at a crossroads in our nation's history. Barack Obama and his minions are attempting an unprecedented power grab. If they are allowed to succeed, it will forever change our country, and it will definitely diminish the rights of every American citizen.

Obama has appointed no less than 37 czars that answer only to him. Even the House and Senate have no power over them. These czars have very radical backgrounds.

John Holdren, the science czar, advocated population control and mandatory abortions. Van Jones, the environmental czar, was profiled byGlenn Beck extensively last week on his popular Fox News program. He is an avowed communist with ties to black nationalism and anarchism. Jones was also affiliated with the Weather Underground, the group Bill Ayers is famous for, which was responsible for blowing up buildings - and apologetically.

With all of these radicals advising Obama on policy, one has to wonder what kind of moves he will make to ensure that these policies are implemented.

Obama has talked of building a civilian national security force. What will be its purpose? Will it be to control the citizenry if they revolt against the policies of a Marxist regime? The military itself is currently recruiting men and women to work in internment camps. (See an ad for an internment specialist on the Army's website here.) Where will these camps be located? And whom are they intended to confine?

There has been talk of the FCC re-implementing the Fairness Doctrine or some form of it, for the purpose of effectively silencing the opposition to Obama's policies. Now comes word that a Senate bill would give the White House the power to disconnect private sector computers from the Internet. The Obama regime claims it would only utilize that power in a cybersecurity emergency. But who determines what constitutes an emergency? These questions remain unanswered.

The American people have responded to Obama's health care plan powerfully, speaking up at town hall meetings, demanding answers from their senators and representatives regarding a 1000 plus page bill that many of them have not taken the time to read. Citizens on all sides of the political spectrum are abhorred by the idea of losing their choices when it comes to medical treatment. And there is a legitimate fear that bureaucrats will make decisions on who is worthy to live and when the proverbial plug should be pulled.

But while the reaction to health care is laudable, it may be a case of not seeing the forest for the trees. There is a much larger picture here with regard to the government attempting to take complete control of the lives of its citizens.

We must remain vigilant to everything this administration is attempting to do. If not, we will soon find ourselves in a country our Founding Fathers would not recognize.

This is complete nonsense. The author has plently of material to use to alert us to the dangers of the Obama Regime. He doesn't need to use delusional nonsense, it hurts his case.

“Sunlight is the best disinfectant”

We need to know what they’re doing at all times and fight any attempt to either tax or exert any authority over the American people.

They have no Constitutional authority to do either.

You are right!
Who needs more czars????

Where do his allegiances lie? Who is Obama? There are many vids where he introduces his pastor,Jeremiah Wright, a man who introduced him to “his christian faith 20 years ago”. My guess is that he still retained his muslim beliefs from Indonesia.Thats why he still relates to Islam and secondly, his “ church” gave a muslim, Loius Farrakhan a lifetime achievement award...

Basically, very unamerican. Actually Anti American.....

Who is obama.. I dunno. What is he doing is unconstitutional.
Either way, face it he already has his agenda deep into play
He has already set up his parallel government with what 42 czars who were hand picked and that report directly to him.... totally bypassing the senate. This treasonous conspiracy by the MARXISTS have nothing to do with the constitution which call for the peoples input. Unconstitutional!

And he took oath to uphold the constitution...

Soon you will see him create a crisis and bring out his own militia of Black Panthers with “general” Louis Farrakhan! No seriously though, he will shift power to his parallel govt so he is no longer the president of the US but the totalitarian Ruler of the US. He may well retain the title “pres” just for posterity.

Change the government! Impeach the president!

Not only Glenn Beck sees this, but Sonja Schmidt...

What can these czars do? What power do they have? What can we do to stop them. What sort of President appoints a czar. Last I checked this is America, let’s keep it that way. What can we do?

He’s got 37 czars? I didn’t know there were so many.

One bad things about the czars is that they are unaccountable. Yes they are accountable to Obama, but, there’s no oversight or accountability to Congress or anyone else, as there would be with cabinet members.

And, why are there czars in some areas where we already have cabinet level positions? For example, why does Obama have an environmental czar when he already has a Secretary of the EPA and a whole bureaucracy devoted to the environment already? Why does he have an urban affairs czar when there is already a Dept of Housing and Urban Development?

I wish there were conservative news hounds like Woodward and Bernstein. Because I have a feeling that groups such as ACORN are emdedded more than we know in the Obama administration, and there are probably lots of conflicts of interest and even illegal activity based on same, if only some news hounds would dig into this.

Nice expansion of the federal government, and btw, whatever it is costing to pay all these czars and their staff would probably buy a lot of healthcare for the uninsured.

Exactly what power do the czars have? What decisions can they make? Who approves them? Vetts them? How much are they being paid? How much info do they have access to? Is this a shadow government set up to abolish what we have, legislative, judicial and excutive? You would think the media would be outraged but its like they’ve had their brains removed and replaced with a loop tape of “we love Obama, he can do no wrong”.

Yeah, it’d be nice to know what this new branch of the government does.

when President Franklin D. Roosevelt expanded the government rapidly under the New Deal and appointed a host of new federal overseers. The Washington Post reported in 1942 on the sudden rush of "executive orders creating new czars to control various aspects of our wartime economy," and a cartoon from that year shows "czar of prices" Leon Henderson, "czar of production" Donald Nelson, and "czar of ships" Emory S. Land all piling onto one throne.

Obama has almost as many czars as he has Cabinet posts, which means he has essentially doubled the size of his own piece of government. Not a bad feat for a guy who claims he isn’t a big government liberal. It also means he has avoided those pesky confirmation hearings that have been so embarrassing for his tax-cheating appointees.

"Even his own supporters have criticized the return of the czars. Sen. Robert C. Byrd (D-W.Va.) sent what the L.A. Times called “a cautionary letter to Obama” back in March, or several czars ago. He bashed the whole idea, saying they rarely testify and “often shield” information. “The rapid and easy accumulation of power by White House staff can threaten the constitutional system of checks and balances,” Byrd said.

"But Obama loves historical comparisons and, according to the Washington Examiner, the first such czar dates back to FDR’s “‘war production czar’ Donald Nelson, who was joined by an economic czar, a manpower czar, a food czar and even a rubber czar.”

This is all going towards a very ugly, violent place in this nation’s history. We can’t depend on anyone or branch at the federal level to do what is right. Look at how we are responding to the lawful and correct decision of Honduran Supreme Court to rid the nation of a despot. Imagine how bad it will be when the people of this nation decide to throw out our despot and his henchmen.

You know, Obama is violating separation of powers. If there were a Congress with a backbone (or are they complicit for their own gain?), this could get nipped quickly in the bud.

Even the House and Senate have no power over them.

Not exactly, the House still has control of the expenditures if they want to restrict the Executive branch. Of course that is highly unlikely with the Dems in such strong control of the house. (for now)

In theory you are correct but as you point out so far neither Congress nor media is questioning this.

CATO Institute pointed out the value a the average Fed employee is 98k while the value of the avg private sector employee is 47K
Unless someone can get the populace demanding this stop we are in for harsher times than we can imagine

The abominable gordon brown appointed a 'Dancing Czar' recently here in the UK, what the freaking hell he claims it's for, I just don't know apart from paying off someone for something, and creating a distraction.

I hate to quote other people, but people are only just just realising how late in the game the World is, and how dark it's becoming, for all of us.

These globalist tyrants must all be stopped, if they don't, you might possibly have just had your last election.

The way we stop this is “Force” the 10th Amendment issues at State level and remove the power and funding for DC.

I know that is a big order, but it is what has to happen to preserve the Nation.

There is no other option.

The good side, it can be done.

With today’s technology even our Congressmen could live in their districts and telecommute. Put them back under the thumb of the people they should represent and work for. I have advocated that for many years. And personally work that way now.
