"In their own words: OFA and ACORN may soon look to use violence against political opponents
Organizing for America (OFA) is a cadre of Obama supporters, first marshaled a few weeks ago to ignite grassroots support for the President's massive budget bill.
Last week, The Birmingham News reported that groups like OFA and ACORN were organizing volunteers to canvas for Obama's agenda. The iconography of the OFA marketing material is bizarre: it is affiliated not with the Democrat Party, but Barack Obama himself.
Those who gathered at Kelly Ingram Park in downtown Birmingham were urged to enlist others who share Obama's vision and to stay away from trying to convert naysayers.
"We're looking for supporters," said DeHaven of Hoover, one of the event's organizers. "We're not looking for a fight. That will come later, when we have an army."
Comforting, given that ACORN and OFA are certain to benefit from the insidious GIVE Act, which provides $5.7 billion to create 250,000 "paid volunteer" jobs.
The Senate defeated an amendment to GIVE that would have prevented groups with political arms -- like ACORN and OFA -- from receiving funds. That means these community organizing groups, affiliated with Obama himself, could receive billions of taxpayer money.
And the GIVE Act may tie directly to Obama's bizarre promise -- repeated publicly on two occasions -- to create a "civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as our military."
Specifically mentioned in the bill are programs "that strengthen community efforts in support of homeland security."
In other words, GIVE could militarize ACORN and OFA under the guise of "homeland security." It provides housing, uniforms, food, logistics, unspecified equipment and "other services determined by the Director."
DeHaven simply confirmed what anyone can read for themselves in the bill.

Courtesy of the GIVE Act, Obama's army -- an unprecedented internal security force operating as a political wing of a President's re-election campaign -- appears to be on the way. Funded by taxpayers, no less.

That's a line right out of The Book, if I recall. I think Horowitz pointed it out. It goes like this: "we'll be happy to appeal for votes until we get guns [paraphrase]."
When the left compared Bush (or Bush I or Reagan) to Hitler, it was clearly a smear.
When we compare Obama to Hitler it is being declared a smear tactic like the left used. The Obama/Hitler parallels are starting to becomre more than just coincidental though. It is becomming hard not to notice them.
Well, their door-to-door drive may have failed, but they succeeded in getting their funding:

President Obama today signed into law the “GIVE Act,” H.R. 1388, which massively expands the National Service Corporation and allocates to it billions of dollars, and one executive for the program now says it will allow for the “managing” of up to 8 or 9 million people.
WND has reported on plans to create the corps since Obama told a campaign stop in Colorado Springs last year he wants a “Civilian National Security Force” as big and as well-funded as the U.S. military.
The bill includes a “National Service Reserve Corps” whose members have completed a “term of national service,” “training” and “not less than 10 hours of volunteering each year.”
In a conference call with reporters on the plan, Alan Solomont, chairman of the Corporation for National and Community Service, said the 75,000 current members of the AmericCorps program “leverage” about 2.2 million volunteers, and the total of all such volunteers who are managed through the federal program total about 4 million.
He said the possibility with the expanded authorization and funding means that up to 8 or 9 million could be involved.
“If we triple the size of AmeriCorps from 75,000 members to 250,000 members annually, and if we – if those 75,000 AmeriCorps members are currently engaging 2.2. million volunteers a year, we could triple that to 6.6 million volunteers, 250,000 AmeriCorps members. So I think – you can do the math – I think that was about six or seven million, and then we have another half a million in Senior Corps and another million or so in Learn and Serve America [for children],” he said.”....

Most citizens of this country WILL NOT give up their fire arms regardless of an unconstitutional presidential order or law from congress. The only way these Brown Shirts can be effective is with the use of firearms against the public.
If you are a betting man put your money on those that have used firearms all their life for hunting and target shooting. They can get you at 300 yards, easy.
Danger number ONE—election day, 2010. Look for these thugs at polling places around the country. Voter fraud and intimidation on that day will be breathtaking. And the MSM?? Why of course members of the media will be OUTRAGED—by attempts of actual Americans to break up the thug-lines in front of voting booths!

I'm upset that the US senate thinks that a low IQ group like this deserves $5.7 billion of MY tax dollars. This in itself ought to provoke a revolt from taxpayers.

I don’t know about them failing...they seem to be taking these steps unnoticed by most Americans. Mention any of this, not the assumptions, but the verifiable quotes and facts, to someone who’s not paying attention and they’ll think you’re a wacko. Like Beck has said, all it will take is one national crisis and the switch will happen...he’s got all his ducks in a row and by the time America notices, it will be too late.
Regardless of ideology, far left, far right or just plain dictatorial, the subjugation of a democracy or republic will take the same path. Venezuela is a perfect example. Chavez was elected the first time and did win that election fairly. He did not win the second election despite what Jimmy Carter said. Once elected Chavez systematically went about accruing power through intimidation and unconstitutional changes to their constitution which was rubber stamped by a packed supreme count in Venezuela.
To take over a democratic country you must first have a real enemy or invented one. You then acquire more power step by step, because you need this power to fight the enemy.
Other Examples:
Franco of Spain, the enemy was the communists and they were real.
Pinochet of Chile, the communist in power and they were real.
Chavez of Venezuela, rampant corruption in the government, and it was real.
Barack Obama, social justice, equality, saving the environment, global warming, saving the children, saving the economy, etc etc etc.
As Rham Emanuel says, 'NEVER LET A GOOD CRISIS GO TO WASTE." In his case the enemy has been invented.
