The only way they can remain irresponsible for their own situation is to blame someone else for creating their situation. Blame whitey.
(Some) Blacks are still victims more than 40 years after the passing of the civil rights act. When a black man is elected President of the United States, it is clear that most Americans no longer consider race as an issue. That means they can’t use racial discrimination as a weapon anymore.
So, they accuse conservatives of being racists for disagreeing with the President. If I really believed the President’s life was truly in danger from right-wing extremists or Nazi-loving racists, I’d speak out against it. I don’t believe it for a second. Obama isn’t in anymore danger than Bush was from left-wing extremists and Nazi-loving socialists.
The election of Barack Obama did not "suddenly mean" that a black person could "do anything". The potential was always there. The achievements of others will still depend on their own efforts.
Before Apollo 11, it was an impossibility for men to walk on the moon. We have the technologies now.
I could possibly walk on the moon, but I am unlikely to ever get to do so.
