Amen, guitarpicker.

That was the ONLY claim that had against our LORD.

But then, who else was there to dine with?

Exactly right. Jesus went to where the sinners were so that by his example, he could show them how to live and by his love he could heal and save them.

The San Hedron and their parties are not where Jesus sought to be, nor found himself comfortable. As Jesus entered Simon the Pharisee's home, no one including Simon himself offered to wash Jesus' feet as was the custom of the day.

In Luke 7:35-39 we read about the uninvited woman who entered Simon Pharises home and washed Jesus' feet with her tears and her hair, then annointed his feet with the alabaster oil she brought, which likely was all she had to offer. Simon is offended, commenting that if Jesus was a true prophet of God then he'd have known the type of woman was and that she was a sinner.

Clearly Jesus' reaction to the woman and what her act meant versus that of Simon tells us much about who he'd rather "hang around" with.
