CNSNEWS/the lid ^ | 7/27/09 | The Lid

During his speech at a National Press Club luncheon, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Democratic Congressman John Conyers (D-Mich.), questioned the point of lawmakers reading the health care bill.“I love these members, they get up and say, ‘Read the bill,What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill? Source

Now we know the reason the Democratic Congress does not read the bills they pass, the legislation is too complicated for them to understand. Is it too much to ask that our "representatives" understand what they are voting on? for the This is a shocking betrayal of the public trust, a betrayal that has happened often during this congress.

He doesn’t have to read it. He knows his fellow wacko liberals will create a bill that takes away all freedom, expands the reach of big government into areas it has no right to be in, authorizes peaceful, assisted death for the elderly, forces all to pay for killing unborn babies, and puts insurance companies out of business.

If anyone at the RNC has any brains, they’d get a fresh ad out with this excerpt/audio asap and show what complete tools these collectivist bastards really are.

Wonder what the reading level is of Conyer’s caucus? But not to worry. The unions tell them how to vote anyway.

“What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?”

Well, he does have a point. However, this idiot doesn’t see anything wrong with PASSING a bill that he has absolutely no idea what is in it.

Every single health policy, even Medicare has a schedule of benefits or explanation of benefits which you get to see BEFORE YOU BUY IT. Does Obamacare? If so, where is it? If not,why not, what are they hiding? Also RINO Fred Barnes of the Weakknee Standard has a article calling BO an economic illiterate. Told you RINOs so way back BEFORTE the election, but your white guil;t, inside the Beltway mentality meant more than the facts. Morons.

This is exactly what is wrong with legislators all across the country and why they all need to be thrown out especially the liberal ones.

READ ALL THE !@#$%^&*! BILLS FROM COVER TO COVER, EVERY PAGE. If you write them you ought to know what’s in em. And if you don’t like it, then let’s start making bills no more than ten pages in length and give every legislator the time enough to read them thoroughly and completely. And any legislator who does not read them should be voted out of offcie by their constituents or else made to obey the same laws that they pass on to us such as socialized health care. Let them be required to join the nationalized socialized health care system they want us to live by and let’s see how they like it.

"What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?"? Hey Conyers, what good is it in writing a 1,000+ page bill that took longer than 2 days and two lawyers to help write if you frakin idiotic morons are not going to read it?

What an asshat - why is Conyers scared that the bill might get read? Does he fear that people might actually see what government takeover of health care really means?

Read it!! Read it slowly, out loud with an oral interpretation of each paragraph. The idea that we or our reps should vote on ANYTHING that hasn't been read and understood is beyond the pale.

How about an ammendment that all government employees, congress and the president must take the “public option”, including suicide counselling if they are over 65.

The elephant in the corner of the room is the size of the bills....

If "they" really wish to solve this issue, simply pass legislation that limits the size and assigns an amount of time per page required prior to any vote.
