I did read it but we have no idea whatsoever from the story why or by whom her mom was killed. I’d make better than even odds that it is related to Islam but we don’t know that now do we?
That was my first thought too. Maybe there’s an accidental capital letter in that post.

Usually, yes, but I had a friend who had to help clean up after a "she" blew her brains all over his cousin's living room after a night of drinking.
Sorry. I have to lighten it up sometimes. You know this Depression we are going thru is so depressing. And almost all the news is grim. And then we get 900 hours of the heroic genius of music icon king of pop on the tube.

from what I’ve read, most “honor killings” are not shooting, but knifing or attempted throat slashing.
i thought this was weird when i read it.
maybe it’s urban myth but... when women kill themselves, i thought they never shot themselves in the head, but always in the chest.

I doubt it very much. Some have posited the theory that it could have been an honor killing, but according to the news reports, the woman had a single gunshot to the head, while McNair had several gunshot wounds. If it had been an honor killing, I think she’d have been shot more than he, and likely mutilated, as well.
Could be McNair’s wife. Jealous of the new girlfriend.

Update: This article says that the Kazemis are members of the Bahaii faith, which makes the “honor killing” theory even less likely. Unfortunately, the article does not shine any light on the circumstances surrounding the killing of Kazemi’s mother in Iran, but it does say that the family fled Iran in 2002 because it was “in danger.” If Kazemi’s mother was in fact murdered by Islamic fascists, that event no doubt would have had a profound effect on Kazemi. Some can overcome that type of trauma; others cannot.
The story line developing is that they have been together for months now. She had recently received a Cadillac Escalade from him and seen being dropped off and picked up by limos at her apartment regularly. She got popped for a DUI just this past thursday and McNair was in the car with her. The cops said she tried to claim she wasn't drunk, but high (nice one....). She refused the test, so she was immediatly arrested, and McNair later bailed her out of jail.
Something tells me this incident might of been the cause of this killing. McNair probably tried to use it as an excuse to cool things down.
The victim's sister, Soheyla Kazemi, told the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville Saleh had expected McNair to get a divorce. "She said they were planning to get married."
Another piece to the puzzle is that McNair had a permit to carry a handgun in Tennessee and was arrested once before and the cops found a 9mm weapon in his possession.
So far, I'm not buying a Islam/honor killing scenerio just because she was Iranian.
Thanks fo the reminder. I think. Some stories are more difficult to read than others. Honor killings, abortions ... I usually skip past the details.
As a Tennessee resident and fan of McNair, I am eager to find out the details of this murder. For instance, the gun that was found under the female, was it the weapon that fired all four bulltes at McNair? Was it the weapon which terminated her life?
Bahais are generally very civilized people.
This sounds to me more like “fatal attraction” than any kind of honor killing. Most likely he tried to dump her, and she snapped.
And my speculation goes toward whether her mother having been murdered in Iran 11 years ago —possibly by Islamic fascists — made her more prone to “snap.”
I really don’t define it a “fatal attraction” if this isn’t just some quick fling.
Word is they dated for months, bought her a blingmobile and probably a bunch of other shiney stuff to dazzle her into droping her clothes, was telling her he was going to leave his wife to marry her, and she was only 20 years old which ends up being about half his age. I don’t consider that some “moment of marital weakness” and she thus becomes some jilted psycho stalker.
I’m in no way condoning murder or what she did, but McNair was obviously playing with fire, and got burned in the worst way. And I bet this 20 year old wasn’t the first for Air McNair.
