Anchorage, Alaska – Governor Palin & Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region X Administrator Dennis Hunsinger signed a disaster response agreement that sets the stage for full federal participation in the spring flooding disaster recovery on the Yukon and Kuskokwim Rivers.
“When the state & federal government work together in a cooperative fashion, we can achieve far greater help for our residents,” Governor Palin said. “This agreement allows the full depth of FEMA to work right next to our state responders & help those affected by this record flooding season.”

And yet Palin got the fewest votes in a presidential election out of any ticket in two election cycles.
Palin is a loser, because she lost the election on the losing McCain/Palin ticket.
Reagan wasn’t a loser in 1976 because he was not up for election.
These are some hard facts.
Sarah may win support from Republicans when it is her vs. the liberal pop culture media.
But she’s not going to have a liberal foil if she runs in the GOP 2012 primary.
It will be her vs. other Republicans, many very accomplished, articulate, and serious, and she will have to out perform them.
That’s pretty unlikely.
If Gov Palin was at the head of the ticket, your point would be valid, but she wasn’t, McCain was. Most voters chose to vote for Obama over McCain. For most, it was not a choice between Biden and Palin.
I don’t think we can say now what her ability to garner national votes is. We know she enlived McCain’s campaign and a lot of conservatives seemed to vote for McCain because of Palin. So, she seems to have helped the McCain campaign, but whether she can stand alone as a presidential candidate is still to be determined.
If the voters were there for her in 2012, they would have been there for her in 2008, regardless of if she got first or second billing.
The #2 of a losing ticket is not going to win in an ill-conceived rematch.
It has never happened, it will never happen.
It would be the absolute worst gamble the GOP could take.
And the price of the inevitable loss is another 4 years of 0bama and his march towards statist corporatism.
Sorry, I strongly disagree. We will just have to wait for 2012 then in which one of us will surely dine on some crow.
And if Palin doesn’t run or otherwise win the nomination?
Of course if Palin is the 2012 GOP nominee and then 0bama defeats her again, that is not a bet I want to win.
Either way, no matter what, Sarah Palin will not be President 4 years from now.

Palin was forced on us by McCain.
We had to cringe through her stumbling debate and interview disasters.
But no one would have picked her as the candidate based on those performances. And that’s why she wasn’t elected in 2008, and why she won’t be nominated in 2012.
It’s OK. The election is over. We don’t have to go on pretending still.
We are freed from having to defend Palin embarrassing performances.
For the life of me I don’t know why anyone would throw themselves so wholeheartedly behind one of John McCain’s schemes.
He’s never displayed sound judgement in any of his choices in the past, so why are some people so quick to get behind this one?
Are we really going to let John McCain of all people decide the future of the GOP?
You really trust this guy’s judgement?

BTW, I don't seem to remember that Palin was running for POTUS in 2008, as you are suggesting.
You are one very confused dude.
(For whatever reason, Palin represents something to some people, just as 0bama represents something to others.)
Its all about identifying with a candidate culturally. For example, take Romney. Many Freepers cannot identify with Romney because he is too urbane. Plus the fact that Romney tried to run to Ted Kennedy’s Left on social issues in the 1994 Senate race didn’t help either.
Many FReepers love Palin because they identify with her culturally. She’s a small town, redneck woman who hunts and chooses life for her children and grandchild. They connect with her culturally. To them, she is kin.
So yes, conservatives do practice identify politics.

T=Perhaps the problem many of these FReepers are overlooking is that just like Huckabee or Haley Barbour, such a candidate isn’t going to appeal to a wide enough demographic to win a national election. A successful candidate is one who can cross over and appeal to a wide cross-section of urban, suburban, and rural voters, north, south, east, west, midwest.
Honestly, I don’t do identity politics. I’m really more interested in competence and policies. I do think it’s about time Republicans got serious and realize that electing a president is more than just picking an empty vessel to walk the party line. Even if that’s ultimately all a modern president really is, the voters still want someone with some solutions that they can have confidence in leading the nation.
Beats me. Why don't you tell us -- with documentation as to how FEMA killed all of those alleged FEMA victims?

Right, and Truman was the other half of FDR’s ticket.
So 1948 was a rematch, and it ended as all rematches end — with the loser losing by an even bigger margin.
